I always get this kind of email send to our animal welfare org's email address. Never replied to any of those but I got kinda curious on how it works. Went to various websites talking about it, how it works, etc. I was shocked to know that they (scammers) actually kill people due to this scam! Oh my God, was I scared about that! Very scary really - and to think some people (especially the ones who don't know much about hoax & scams) fall for something like this. Really scary.

I also get emails from them periodically. I always thought it was completely ridiculous. The first thing I thought of was, "Ok...and WHY would you pick me out of millions of people?" That's what really triggered it as totally off to me!

I don't know... I was reading that last link about how the scenario plays out. Who on earth would a) go with something that means you'd get millions of dollars, but no one can know about it and b) pay $75,000 up front? If you have that kinda cash, would you need that money?

Crazy how detailed they get tho... though it seems that there are too many red flags to actually get a person to go all the way, you know?

I guess some people just really want to believe? Beats me. I had a friend in HS though that you could probably convince to do it if she had the money. She was THE most gullible person on the planet. I can't tell you how many things my friend Joy and I told her just to see if she's believe our ridiculous stories! Of course, once she believed them and we had had a little fun we'd tell her we made them up. But she would just believe ANYTHING!! Some people can just be tricked into any ridiculous thing!
