We have a 6 month old neutered male cat that is much more like a child than a cat. We got him when he was only 5 weeks old to save him from being put to death. He is attached to my husband like a dog or a child. He has 3 or 4 very small stuffed animals that he likes to play with. He has recently started dropping one (and only one) in his water dish. We find it 2 or 3 times a day in there and are just wondering if anyone may be able to shed some light on why he may be doing this.
Thank you.

I dunno... heard of many people saying this, though. Billy and CJ put their's in their food dish? I don't know... maybe they are trying to wash it? And maybe when they put it in the food, they are trying to get food smell on it? Who knows!? LOL!

I had a cat who would hunt socks and hair scrunchies. When he was through, he put them in his food dish. I think it makes good sense--you eat what you hunt.
