Do any of you use Mozilla's Firefox browser? I have been using it for a while now and I really like it. They have almost no security issues and there is no way for spyware to get onto your computer. I do have to use IE from time to time because not all of the sites support Firefox. My favorite feature is tabbed browsing so I can have multiple web sites open all in one window.

I like it, and the new Netscape browser (both made by the same people, who USED to be netscape until AOL bought the company and fired them, then rehired them when aol realized it had screwed up the netscape browser...)

some sites don't work quite right (many use Microsoft-specific web stuff), but most do, and those that don't usually aren't that important.

Yep, I use it too. After the initial phase of introducing someone to cleaning up their security problems, I always recommend Firefox for people who are willing to try it. I also love the tabbed browsing. It is especially good when trying to view lots of clickable pics from a screen index. You just click on as many as you want and have them all pre-loaded in no time.

In most cases you won't miss Internet Explorer, but did you try uninstalling it and re-installing with the latest version? Do you use windows update to get the latest security patches etcetera?

Do you have (at the bare minimum) all the programs I listed in ilovecats' thread she made today?

Do you have Service Pack 2 for XP?

Ryan hooked me up with it but I haven't gotten used to opening it up instead of Internet Explorer... I'll try harder tho!

Yeah, at least you got it though. It also has a feature that allows you to import your bookmarks and other data from Internet Explorer, so you can ask about that if you need help. To do it yourself, you click "File" in an open Firefox window, then select "import" from the drop down list and go from there.

You can get all of the security and safety benifits of Firefox, and any other Mozilla Browser, but with the superior viewing capabilities of IE, and twice the speed of any Mozilla browser as well a tabbed browsing with the Opera Browser. I wouldn't use ANYTHING that is even REMOVTELY similar to Netscape.

If you like Firefox because of the security issue's, you should try Opera, because you'll at least be able to see websites the way they were meant to be seen. You miss so much with those Mozilla based browsers.
