Fun huh? Cody didn't sleep through the night until she was about 7-8 months old. She STILL wakes me up at least 2-3 days a week wanting out and it's alway 1 hour before it's time to get up.

oh Susan of course you can! I feel so bad for her. I grew up with collies and had lost two in my teens, I can never forget them.

OMG she is soooooo darn cute!

*books a ticket to Maple Valley to steal Sandy*

I know what you mean about being up all the time - Peedoodle is the same, he wakes me up by tapping my shoulder and its a constant thing. This morning, I woke up with a bright light in my face and wondered what the hey that was, and saw Peedoodle opening the blinds so that the sun would reflect onto my face - it was 6 30am! Once I woke up, he snuggled with me and then sat by his food bowl! Those cats are getting toooo darn smart for me!

she is REALLY cute--her little belly all sticking out. not to worry, as she grows and settles in she'll sleep better, and learn all the rules...and plus she's growing up with kitties, and that is a great way for a puppy to grow up
since saba shared space with a great pyrenees as you know, she'll probably be surprised if sandy only gets to 60 pounds!!! it is so true, the cats and dogs get along better with the other species..i think it's cause they don't speak the same language and it doesn't matter when the other one says something...well, rude. welcome to your new baby, you new mom!!

Thanks Mayree! She is cute and her eyes are holding at hazel green now. But we've had some stress wtih Sasha and I'm keeping a vigilant watch over him, as he's got to come first. He is so introverted as you know, so he's subtle in his behaviors. He is pooping upstairs during the night. Saba is fine, she's adjusting rapidly, although she likes to be in control at all times and will only play and poke around with Sandy on her own diva timetable, naturally. Sasha is purring and very lovey, as long as he's up high and has his private spaces. We make sure Sandy does not go into Sasha's "room" so he knows that's his own private space and we are having a behaviorist come to the house this weekend, as she's just too young for puppy school but yet we need some pointers first-hand. What is this Rescue Remedy that people use on cats? Would it be appropriate for Sasha? We are asking a lot of him right now and he is my #1 priority. Thank goodness I have all next week off, it's much needed, and I can be with him and cuddle all day, every day. --?

Eddie - is it Bach Flower Rescue Remedy? A natural remedy that humans can use too. We put a couple of drops in Adelaide's food when she first came inside and was bouncing off the walls and it worked a treat - just took the edge of her nervousness. Link to the Back Flower site.

Good luck

E- the Rescue Remedy is an herbal liquid that helps calm kitties down. Give MA a buzz about it, she can tell you more than I can, or might could reccommend something different.

Thanks Beth & Cindy.

I did send MA a PM yesterday on this very issue but have not heard back from her yet.

Here's a site with info about Bach remedies: http://www.bachflower.com/
I don't know what the usual prices are in the U.S.. The ones listed there seem a bit steep compared to German prices (Bach is really big here). What will probably work better is a couple of tennis balls and a doggy frisbee - Labs love to fetch and catch, and several rounds of hard play will tire her out for a while.
I wonder if her eyes will stay green? My mom's Chocolate Lab, Kano (100 lbs.!), has green eyes. The Black Lab, Cheyenne (now about 75 lbs.), has dark brown ones.
