My sweet kitty Sable is missing, I have not seen her since I put her out early Sunday morning. Her ritual is to go outside at ~4 a.m every morning and she is normally waiting at the door for morning biscuits between 6-7. This was not the case this past weekend
My cat Oliver, as well as another neighbor's cat, both came in a few hours late that morning. Ollie was acting strange
I have looked high and low, called her name and there is absolutely no sign of her anywhere. In her 4 years, this is the first time she has ever gone missing!! I just want her home- I miss her snuggling, greeting me when I pull up in my car and even her opening the front door (and leaving it open).

My neighbor across the street heard the cats in their yard at ~5:45, then she heard what sounded like the beginning of a catfight but it stopped quickly. Then she saw something "smaller than a dog" run off towards the next door neighbors house. Her husband went out and didn't see anything. Later that day, we noticed a small bit of Sable's fur in their lawn. The amount was minimal- I have seen more fur fly when her and Ollie get into it! (Ollie is my fat cat
) The bushes didn't look to be disturbed! My neighbors have recently spotted 'coon prints in their garage... We live in a neighborhood which backs up to a greenbelt; our street has ~5 homes at the end of the street that have "woods" as their back neighbor! Supposedly we have bobcats and coyotes that live in the open spaces, although I have never seen or heard of these animals coming into our neighborhood! I just can't fathome a coyote coming into our neighborhood, turning onto my street and snatching my little lady bug

My kids and I have gone to all the homes on our street, behind our house and the homes behind our neighbors home and nobody has been or heard anything!!! I have walked the wooded area 3-4 times looking and calling for Sable and NOTHING! I didn't see any signs of coyotes (by means of poo) either- only deer!! I have called the local vets- no Sable. Tomorrow I will go to the local animal shelter since they will not tell me anything over the phone... Now that it is not raining, I will post flyers to all mailboxes in the neighborhood as well as on the front gate... I've called the local newspaper and asked that the delivery person call me, the papers had been delivered by the time my neighbor heard the commotion. Hoping that maybe they saw something...

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? At this point, I just don't know what else to do.

If there are coyotes or other wildlife in the area she could be scared and hiding. Very few cats survive an encounter with a coyote- unless the owner is around to scare off the coyote.
