What is the one dish or meal from your childhood that perhaps your mother cooked that you just love and/or miss?

Beef tips over rice. That's how mom lures me into driving across town to see her- by promising to make that for me for dinner

The other meal that does it for me is a couple of hot dogs, cottage cheese, and a couple of slices of tomato. That combo in particular makes me smile b/c it is what my late grandmother always made for me as a kid

My mom makes the best meat loaf, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I've been trying to recreate it and just don't have the touch or something. She also makes some mean deviled eggs that I love.

My mother isn't a cook. LOL
I don't miss the Kid Cusine frozen dinner.

My dad on the other hand... Mmmm I miss his coconut shrimp and the tempeh in peanut sauce. MMMM. I think I'm going to have to call for that recipe lol

I'll be green with envy every time you mention it.

I guess my fave thing mom makes has to be this chicken stuff in a crock pot. You use mushroom & chicken soups & white wine. I have made it a time or two but I use the fat free version of the soups and "lighten" it up. She uses real 'everything'. I had some last Sunday matter of fact, and it tasted way-better than mine. So I guess the fatter kind is tastier after all.

I was a really finicky eater as a kid so I'm having a hard time with this one. I do miss my mom's pies though.
She makes the BEST homemade pies. Maybe she'll make one for Easter dinner this sunday!!!!

peach cobbler - in the turkey roasting pan! Had to make sure there was enough for midnight snacking. (For apple cobbler it was my Grandma Bond.)

I learned to cook just about everything the way she did. But there ain't nothin' like a bologna sandwich made by mommy. She made me one for lunch when I was working part time.

I'm so thankful that yorkshire is one of my mom's regular sides! I wouldn't be surprised if we DO have that this Easter! After all, she's cooking a giant roast!!!!!
I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for that one.

For most of my childhood, Dad was the cook in the family, although I do remember Mum's cooking from when I was small. Her baked spaghetti was a favourite, and I still make it. Dad made the best roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Mine's good too, but not like his!
