I think he's pompous and full of himself. The only talk show hosts that I enjoy are Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres (she's funny!!).

i couldn't agree more. I used to watch his show all the time. I hardly watch it anymore because I do agree that he's made it more commericialized and about him.

Okay I'm not trying to make a wisecrack here. Rather... I had to read the first part of your sentence like 4 times before I realized you meant "used", not "sued".
I was like, how could she sue him?

Back on topic, I think Dr. Phil is very wise, but I really haven't seen him on TV as much as most people probably have. I don't watch TV much.

Oh lord I can not STAND Dr. Phil. As a psychology major he is an embarrassment. Every psychologist I know finds him to be harmful to the field. You can not give someone the help they need in 1 hour. I agree with Amy that he's a pompous jerk!

Well he does get people extended help in most cases, paying for the help they need for problem children and other issues
He helps them work on long term issues, and I am sure he has alot of staff help to though

Have you ever seen a story on his actual life? I couldn't believe it when I watched it. I can't watch him for more than a couple of minutes, I get so frustrated!

I don't like how he looks, so I doubt I'd be able to watch him on TV. He looks creepy.

I have never watched Talk Shows. However while I was in the hospital and not allowed out of my freaking bed, I had to endure them cuz that's all that was on, that and SOAP OPERAS which I had to endure too cuz my mom sat with me every day and has to watch those things.

The talk show host I most enjoyed was Ellen Degeneres. Say what you will about her, but she was comical, witty, and well down to earth. She was the only thing bearable on the tube, out of the few channels that came into that hospital.

I adore Dr Phil. I think he is right on the money on most things, and tells it like it is. I also like the fact that he follows up with alot of his guests and gets them extended help.

And no.. I dont think the show is about him & I dont think he is pompous.

I watched it once. He told a womenthat she was wrong for wanting to work outside the home b/c her husband made enough money. He wants to reinforce sterotypical gender roles. It makes me sick that someone would be so closed minded today!!!!
I can't stand him!!!!

I used to try and catch him on Oprah, but I rarely watch his show. I am never, ever home that early. I do like his frank style. Everything has gone so politically correct that you can't say anything frank to anyone anymore. He cuts through that and makes people take some responsibility for their situation.
