Welcome to TCS. As far as the question about getting another kitty, if you can afford the expense of an additional cat I would get another one. I have two and have never regretted getting the second. The first one is much better adjusted now that he has a play mate and isn't as bored during the day when I'm at work.

As long as your existing kitten is neutered, it should be fine to get him a companion.
