If it was as lucrative, I would certainly give up my day job!

I work in a library with a whole WHACK of women, and I have a lot of friends who are artists, so I've got a bit of experience.

Mind you, the charts I do for people are very basic. I'm actually getting mine done in more detail by a professional.

I am into astrology as well and do put some stock in it. I don't read the 5 line horoscopes in the paper or anything. That is where people get the idea that people into this stuff are flaky...but as the original poster said (sorry??! can't remember--Vespacat??), its more than that.

I am a Sag with Pisces rising...So I am a freethinking spontaneous party girl with an urge to travel

and people see me as a sensitive fish

My BF is a Virgo too...I did our charts and it said generally while Virgos and Sag's should never date (the sag will infuriate the Virgo with her impracticality and wild ways and the sag will feel stifled), it DID say that our combination was amazing...and that we complement each other.
So it works for us..
I get along rilly well with Air signs mainly, fire signs of course (but we butt heads

) and I like alot of waters due to the Pisces but sometimes they can be too emotional for me ..

Yes, I was the one who started this crazy thread!

And yes, it's important to look at the chart as a WHOLE. As Elizabeth said, placements in Mars and Jupiter are also important. As well as your North and South Nodes. But it's certainly lots of fun!

I certainly don't view myself as flaky... I could think of other signs who would better fit that description!

Actually, Virgo and Saggitarius are a GREAT match on an intellectual level, and somewhat on an emotional level as well. Both tend to intellectualize their emotions.

vespacat, I have a friend from Toronto who is an Astrologer. It wuld be cool of you could meet her. She's a nice person. Even she doesn't really see the Gemini in me. I'm too level, and I'm never more than 1 kind of person. Anyway, I'm proud to say Gemini doesn't fit me. Also, I have a sister who is a Libra, and she's about as unbalanced as a woman can be.

If Gemini's are supposed to be artistic, then I might fit that aspect, but then there are so many signs that they say are artistic.

Another question, how does a person who was born on January 20th actually know what sign they are? Some things say it's Capricorn and some say it's Aquarius. I actually get along with Capricorns better than I do Aquarius people, myself, even though my Moon is Aquarius.

I am another gemini who doesn't fit the standard model:-). What I have found is that many of the 'traits' listed are very superficial and stereotyped. The geminis that I know may come across as superficial at times but that is often far from the truth. They are very aware, quick-thinking and observant individuals, with either a very high core of integrity or a very selfish focus on self-interest:-). We tend to be very adaptable and flexible and roll well with the punches. I find that I also have a lot of the traits of both my Aquarius rising sign and my cancer moon. The blend is very quixotic at times and appears often to be in conflict, yet it seems that the opposing traits tend to balance each other other and the geminian flexibility allows both the cancer sensitivity and the aquarian originality to find fuller expression:-). Phew! For those interested - north node is in Saggitarius; mercury and venus in gemini; mars and uranus also in cancer; pluto and leo in jupiter; saturn in scorpio; and neptune in libra.

My husband is an aquarian with taurus rising (can we say Stubborn - with a double dose!!) and also a cancer moon. I have one aquarian cat, 2 cancer cats and 2 leo cats:-).

Hope since you asked Vespa, I'll let her answer but the exact time of your birth will determine the actual time where the your sun sign is on the planetary tables. You probably have other planetary aspects in your chart (there are 9) that make you click with Capricorns on a visceral level.

You mentioned you were supposed to be born a Taurus, which I find interesting, because I was supposed to be born a Leo (am a Virgo), and people often think I'm a fire sign (well, I have Aries rising, which is REALLY fiery!).

Then again, I have a lot of fire in my chart.

Again, I think your overall chart speaks volumes, rather than simply your Sun sign. And many astologers will tell you the same thing.

To find out someone's exact sign, if on a cusp, just try one of the many free online resources out there. They would have to know their BIRTH TIME and PLACE. That's important. And then they'll be able to find out for sure.

Exactly. I am a Capricorn born in Chicago January 12, so that's 42 degrees North and, 120 west (off the top of my head) and 8 degrees transiting Scorpio. I also am in the middle decante of the sign so, I'm an additional 30 degrees of Cancer influence (each is divided into 10 degree parcels = 30 degrees for the entire sign, 120 for the entire wheel of zodiac). And that's just for Sun Sign starters!
