Tigger decided she was going to pee on our leather couch this morning
She has never done this before. I looked in their litterbox, and shame on me ........ very dirty
I also have just switched over to clumping to see how it works. We are guessing it was because of the clumping litter, because she has never done this before. So, I had an extra bag of Tidy Cats clumping litter and dumped the old stuff out. We will monitor her to see if this is what caused it -- if she does this again, she's going to the vet when Scooter goes, which is this Thursday.

I love the clumping litter (so do my cats) but you have to scoop every day....and since you have more than one cat, you should probably scoop twice daily. Many cats will refuse to use a dirty box, so her "accident" was probably because she didn't want to step in the box.

Make sure you thoroughly clean your couch because if it has even the slightest urine smell, she is likely to use it again, even if the box is clean.

I hope she is doing well now that she has a clean box!

Tigger,

Cats do not like change. When changing anything, be it litter or food, it must be done gradually. It could've been due to the dirty litterbox. But it also could've been the change in litter.

Donna,
We are guessing that it was the litter or it being unclean... She seems fine now.
