I have a feeling I may be in the minority here, but I just don't care for chick flicks. Sometimes I think I must be weird because I don't like them when most other females enjoy them.

I'm more of a horror movie fan. But sometimes it's nice to have a good cry over a silly, sentimental movie.

Interesting. I remember the first question of mine you answered in your spotlight thread where you said you prefer other types of movies. I didn't realize you didn't really like them at all. It's no surprise, but they aren't my favorite type of movie either. I have no problem watching them with someone else though and some of them have been really good. I don't think I've actually seen that many chick flicks though.

Depends on what you mean by chick-flicks. I like romantic comedies like Say Anything, or Garden State which can fall under that header. But if we're talking serious films like The Piano or Last of the Mohicans or sob flicks that make you cry (I don't even know any titles off hand) then I'm with you.

Don't worry about being weird though, I know a few girls not into chick flicks. And some boys who are.

I'm talking about the sappy (IMO) romantic ones that usually star Meg Ryan.

OH! I'll put me down for NO then. I thought I was the only person in the world that didn't like Sleepless in Seattle .

I definitely prefer good comedy, good action/adventure, and good drama.

I'm with you! I don't like the typical chick flicks either. They are so predictable, always the same basic story with perhaps a twist. Perhaps not. BORING!

Give me a good thriller or drama any day! I don't mind crying at a movie if it's good enough to really draw me into the story and characters. The typical chick flicks don't do that.

Uh... I am guilty. I like chic flicks. I really like Meg Ryan, all of her movies. And Julia Roberts (Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman). It's just those curl-up-on-the-sofa kinda movies when you're alone & no one can see your reactions, that I like!

But I prefer movies that are epics, like Dances with Wolves, Last of the Mohicans (mentioned above... Daniel Day Lewis is a hottie!), Cold Mountain, Tombstone, stuff that really happened and has been glossed over for the big screen.

i like chick flicks. I'm not much for comedy or horror.. mostly romance, drama, historical, or documentaries. Oh and mob films, I love those. And war movies too. But maybe those are kinda historical? I like mob/war movies based on true stories..

Horror/suspense are my favorite, but love to cry along to movies like Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman. Yes, if Julia Roberts starred in it, I probaly cried along to it!!!

I generally am not a fan of chick flicks. I don't mind the comedy in some of them, but the last 10 minutes, where the stars realize how they really feel and then get together......

Plus, all those movies designed to make you cry....not my cup of tea. My sister, on the other hand, LOVES them. She would often rent When Harry Met Sally from the library for a week, and watch it every day!

Depends entirely on the movie, if they have a good story and a good ending, yes. But if they are just silly and stupid, NO! I didn't vote because I do like SOME but not all. :-)

I like Meg Ryan comedies, but I don't like your basic sappy Chick Flick. I am not that much into romance movies. I like comedies, first and foremost. Then I like Sci-Fi/Fantasy and then horror flicks.

I do and I don't! (typical female response ha ha). I do because I like Sandra Bullock a lot so I'll watch anything she's in...but I don't because they always make us seem to stupid and helpless....then we get a man and we get to have an emotional breakdown, have some sort of awful sex, and then find we're strong and capable. UGH!
