Strange questions

Samona's kittens are a week old as of this last monday (yesterday). 2 of the kittens already have their eyes open! I thought the eyes did not open before 2 weeks, am I wrong? I thought the kittens looked big as if over due to being born. They are even trying to Walk on their legs instead of crawl. Am I right when thinking the kittens were overdue?

Sounds perfectly normal to me. Kittens eyes usually open around 10 days, but, it can be sooner, as well. Just keep them in a low light area. As for the walking, that's normal too, and great that they are already exercising their legs! No worrys!

I've also seen kittens' eyes open at 5 days. Like every developmental milestone, there is a range of "normal". Most kittens' eyes open around 10 days, but anywhere from 5 days to 15 days is still considered normal. Every kitten in the litter should open his/her eyes around the same time. The only thing to be concerned about is if one kitten's eyes stay completely closed for more than a couple of days after his siblings have all opened their eyes, or if an eye closes after it has opened. In either case, wipe the eyelid(s) with a warm, wet cloth to break up any dried secretions and allow the eyelid to open.
