Just thought you'd like to know... I found this site online which has dentist reviews by patients. Sounds like it'll be handy!

1-800 DENTISTS truly they care about you and ask a ton of questions to line you up with the right dentist.

Hissy I was looking into 1-800 Dentists online but I thought it was weird because they pretty much ask you to book an appointment before they tell you who you have the appointment with. Maybe I'll have to call and I'll see how that goes.

Add my name to the Denta-phobes! I honestly haven't been to a dentist in over 7 yrs because of my last dentist! I can even tell you when my phobia started!

I went into the online yellow pages under Dental Phobia and found a dentist in my area. When I went to him for the first time, they talked me thru everything, and set up a hand signal for when I needed a break. I still walked out of there and collapsed when I got to my car. I have to go back for a crown...and thats when I'll be bringing someone with me.

You know how they always call to confirm the appointment? Well, when I was little, if I was the one who answered the phone, I'd cancel my appointment. lol. I'm terrible about dentists. It's just....unpleasant. And I don't let them use that "sand toothpaste" as I call it. I just won't have it. I always have to tell them and they'll think I'm joking, and I'm like "look in the file". Then they see I'm not joking because I made the dentist write a note in there when I was like 12. I threatened to never ever come back to the dentist again. And I'm a good brusher/flosser, so....NO SAND TOOTHPASTE. It's yucky.
Ok, I do let them do it once every few years, cuz I know that it's important to get a good cleaning, even if it's just once in a while.

Music? Gas? I had a Japanese dentist when I was a little girl who was so gentle and great- so I never fear them, ever.

See I want music or an overhead TV... that'd be excellent!

Someone told me that as children that fear is instilled in us from hearing things that are bad, I think that's true, because if you don't have that instilled in you there's no reason to be afraid, unless you have a really bad experince

Well, I made it through it! LOL They did a polish/cleaning and checked me out pretty good. I have two pockets that have some bacteria in them that they want to reevaluate in 3 months, but over all, great visit and NO CAVATIES!! LOL

There is nothing to be afraid about dentists Susie. You are gonna be ok.

Jake went to the dentists yesterday, and he got the bill of over a thousand dollars for his one tooth. Jake is not scared of the dentitst, he is scared with the bills he is going to pay.
