The best movie ever

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone here see the movie "Pay it Forward"? Great movie have not gotten up to the point of doing anything big for someone.

I challenge you do do something nice for someone. And if it is big enough ask them to pay it forward

So what do you think is the best movie ever?

I have never seen Pay It Forward but I've heard great things about it.

I think Forrest Gump is prolly one of my faves, if I had to choose something to watch every day for the rest of my life. Makes me laugh, makes me cry, has awesome music & great actors. And it's inspirational.

Are you serious?! o....m....g.... that movie was SO hard to watch. I cannot imagine watching it repeatedly. You are made of much stronger stuff than I !

My faves (if I find it playing, I'll stop and watch it):

Enchanted April (cannot believe this has not been released).
The Shawshank Redemption
Sense and Sensibility

Hmmm - "Gone with the Wind", "The Godfather", all three parts of "A Chinese Ghost Story", or "Farewell, My Concubine". Perhaps "Dr. Zhivago".

Oh.... Excellent movie. I would go so far as to call it a peice of art.
But how can you bear to watch it over and over?? I found it incredibly draining...once a year is enough for me.

My personal fave is "The Princess Bride".
I also like "Kill Bill" and the Ring Trilogy.

I thought Episode 1 was okay but I found Episode 2 disappointing, mostly because of Hayden Christiansen's performance. I'll go see Episode 3, but I'm not holding my breath for anything wonderful *sigh*

Best movie ever? That's an IMPOSSIBLE question for me. I love movies and tv. I don't think I can pick one. I can mention a few that I really like:
The House of Yes (black comedy, not for everyone)
Searching for Bobby Fischer
Donnie Darko (great for post-movie discussion)
......I have a million others. I was even considering starting a movie thread, because (not being very modest, I know) I'm a bottomless fit of information and recommendations (can give you them based on other movies YOU like). I can tell you who has been in what and with whom (to the point where my friends are now getting questions for me from their coworkers). So, for me, there's no way to choose a favourite.
Unfortunately I have to say that I didn't like Pay It Forward. I thought it was kind of lame. And I TOTALLY saw the ending coming a mile away. But, to each his own.

Has anyone seen Two Brothers? It's about the lives of 2 tigers from kittenhood to adulthood. It is one of the best movies I've ever seen and it is a MUST SEE for cat lovers.

I ordered What the Bleep? but I haven't seen it yet. I hear it is excellent.

Me, too! It goes back to when I was a kid..I am also looking forward to the new one, it seems a little more "dark"-being a fan of Darth Vader, it should be a good one.
Other favorites are..
American Graffitti
Alien, part 1 & 2
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
Duel
Sling Blade
Heartbreak Ridge (corny Marine movie- the BEST one liners!)
Quest For Fire
28 days Later
Dances With Wolves

A favorite. Here are a few of mine:

1. Donnie Darko ( completely misunderstood by critics) brilliant "outside the box movie)

2. Minority Report

3. Braveheart

4. The Sweetest Thing (I am NOT a fan of Cameron Diaz) but I love to watch it over and over. There is something about it that I can't resist.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean (cool special effects and Johnny Depp
)

T.V series that I love:

1. Sex and the City
2. Sopranos
3. Animal Precinct/Cops
