Very finely shredded and steamed with a little soya sauce, it is a wonderful low calory alternative to rice with just about anything! It is also good cooked with raisins and wine (white for white cabbage, red for red) with a teaspoon of suger added.

My bf doesnt like it the way my mum makes it which means cutting up the cabbage, boil it and then drain add butter.
So how can i make the cabbage?
How do you eat your cabbage? i know most people dont like it..
Cabbage is YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!!

Why don't you do it your Mum's way and then add lots of salt and pepper, too? It's really nice like that. And don't overcook it - if it's still got a little bit of crunch it's delicious!

It's actually delicious stir-fried with other vegetables, once again a little bit crunchy. Or you can chop it up raw and serve it with dips or hommus or something - it actually tastes very peppery raw. It's yum!

As cole slaw (Kohlsalat) or stuffed with ground meat - fill individual cabbage leaves with a ground beef, egg, bread crumb and spice mixture, brown the rolls in hot fat/oil, add water, and steam for 45 minutes. Or boil the cabbage with potatoes and serve with ham or corned beef.
Cole slaw: Shred and wash cabbage, perhaps shredded green peppers (optional), mix with shredded carrots, onions (optional), mustard seed and celery seed, add mayo thinned with water and vinegar. Cool in fridge for several hours (or overnight).

There's no place like home
Probably too late, but.....

Stuffed cabbage rolls (from my Polish mother in law):

Place a whole head of cabbage in a large pot of boiling water until the outer leaves peel away from the core. Keep pulling them away as it cooks towards the center.

Mix 1-2 pounds of ground beef with 2-3 cups rice, some salt, pepper and chopped onion. Wrap the cabbage leaves around the mixture. Hold together with toothpicks if necessary.

Boil the stuffed leaves in a large pot of either tomato soup, tomato juice, tomato sauce or some variation of these 3 for about 1-1/2 hours. You pull the rolls out of the sauce when they just begin to fall apart.

I think Winnipeg is likely the most Ukrainian city in Canada!
