OUCH! I cut my thumb very deeply this morning
so i am more awful with my typing than usual! I am here on the boards but reading not much typing and for big mouth me, that's so hard.
But it got me thinking.....because I can barely do anything without my right thumb....which of our senses or body parts would you have the hardest time giving up? or easiest?
Think about it.....and think about how we take it soooooo for granted. Well, I did, at least.

P.S. and it has been VERY awful and funny trying to do anything today. My buttons are all wrong and my hair is a mess. I think i even have toothpaste on my cheek i didn't see before. Swell. I'm a mess!

Ouch, sorry about the thumb!

I voted the thumb as maybe the only body part I could do without... either that or a toe... my boyfriend actually lost part of one of his toes to a barracuda! Ouch!!!
(Fortunately, it was reattached)

Sorry to hear about your thumb!!! That can be painful.

I couldn't give up my sight!!! I can do without hearing (I'm deaf!) LOL.

OH- I screwed up on the poll- I thought it was for what you COULDN'T give up so I voted for sight instead of hearing. Anyone can change my vote in the poll for me?

At the kitty's beck and call
I voted two front teeth - that way I can have false teeth (cheating) and not really miss them too much at all. Plus I could scare all the kids who call at my door on Halloween if I took them out

Eddie - so sorry about your thumb
look after yourself and I hope it gets better soon.

Man, that's tough! I voted for 2 front teeth because Beth made a good argument for that.
I remember being without my 2 front teeth during the summer as a kid, and besides not being able to eat corn on the cob very well it wasn't that bad.

I just remember what Mom had to go through with chemo. She lost her taste, said everything tasted like cardboard. She was so miserable.
Then she basically lost the use of her fingertips because they were so sensitive. She couldn't do anything! It was so sad to watch; she couldn't write, she couldn't type, could barely even hold a cup or eating utensils. So I couldn't see myself willingly giving up any finger/fingertips or taste, or smell for that matter since it is so tied into taste.

I can tell you something that will make you feel better E- A few years ago, Mike was in the shop working on a knife. He had it on the grinder and the blade caught, flipped in the air. Out of instinct, the idiot reached up to "catch" it. He caught it all right, it went right though his palm because it landed blade side down! OUCH! And that was the first time I ever saw him rush to the doctor's!

I can sympathize, Eddie. I cut my thumb so badly several weeks ago that I ended up going to the ER for stitches, and it was sore for weeks.
As to the poll, I had to go with hearing, because I already have severe hearing loss, and have been informed that it is progressing and not reversible. I've more or less given up on music, but otherwise manage okay.
