Help with transporting a kitten from Ohio down south...

Hi, I have fallen for a kitten that is located in Ohio. I am in New Orleans, Louisiana and the breeder will not ship due to lack of non stop flights (understandable). I checked into flying up myself, but the prices are so high. Do any of you have any suggestions on what I can do?
