My Cat has a swollen bump on her right shoulder. It's under the skin and seems to be softer in the middle and has like a little scab on middle. Does anyone know what might be wrong with her? Please Help!!!!

Bumps are common on kitties. Has you cat been in for vaccinations recently? Is your kitty an inside kitty? Or and inside/outside kitty? Do you have other cats where this one could have been in a fight?

She hasn't had any vaccinations since she was a baby. She is an inside/outside cat and has been known to get in fights with other neighborhood cats. The bump is about the size of a quarter. She is also not as active as she always is and wants to stay in one spot for an extended period of time.

Your cat needs to see a vet, to evaluate the bump. There are a lot of things it could be, but it may be an abcess, and if so, she needs antibiotics. Since she is an indoor/outdoor cat, you really should get her up to date on vaccines, especially rabies.
Please let us know how it goes.

First of all..
It's gonna be okay

Your kitty probably does have an abcess!! My kitty Midnight just recently had one and I took him to the vet as soon as I could. If its untreated it could become very bad for kitty
The vet will be sure to take care of you and kitty... He'll drain it and give you some sab and pills and your kitty should heal within no time!

Midnight is well on the road to recovery..
How does a kitty get an abcess.. The vet told me and some people on this healpful website told me that cats get these things by fights .. like a tooth or a nail with tons of bacteria some how infects kitty and makes that huge puffy bump.
Its full of puss and junk... Huurry take kitty to the vet tomorrow! *HUGSSS!*
good luck

It definitely sounds like a puncture wound from a scratch. Mimi has had a couple in the few months, inflicted by one of our other cats.
Luckily hers have all healed without vet's visits, and she's been completely healthy otherwise, since money is incredibly tight right now. When I first discovered her bump I got so completely anxious, worrying that it cancer or something, which didn't quite fit because the bump became huge without my noticing it was there. After a while I managed to find the scab of where it started, and it calmed me slightly, so I watched her carefully, and the bump went down and things never went downhill... *fewf* Anyways, hope it turns out to be just that, and not something more serious! Well Kissa is doing ok. But her wound has puss coming out of it. We put a warm wet cloth on it. And tried to stop her from licking it. We have really tight schedules, so the soonest time we can take her to the vet is on Friday. We are hoping that maybe she will heal nicely on her own. But if she doesn't look atleast 90% better than we are definitely taking her on Friday.

Thanks so much for the help! Kissa purrrrrs for you!

It is definitely infected if there is pus coming out. Kissa needs antibiotics or the infection can spread. Cat antibiotics are pretty cheap, the vet visit shouldn't be too bad. A lot of vets have payment plans, too. Please get Kissa to a vet ASAP.
