Yes, although my mother-in-law calls them jonquills (I think that might be a Mississippi thing).

Thanks everyone! I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for these blossoms. We bought our house 10 years ago and the very first spring there was a clump of daffodils along the back fence. Every other year or so I've dug up some bulbs and replanted them around the yard. They keep multiplying!

I've never heard of anyone eating these.

Spring is coming your way! It's just been so cold and damp and yucky. I know you'll have a few flowers blooming soon. My mom's daffodils bloomed in January! Of course, she lives in Louisiana. . .

Yes, they're daffodils, but here in mid-TN many call them buttercups (??!!??!!) Where I come from (Maryland and Montana) buttercups are a comPLETEly different flower!

Ours started back in late February (they were on the southside of the garage and sheltered). We're now waiting for the fancy ones my dad bought years ago.

Wouldn't you have loved to hear the cats' opinions of why their human was downon the ground with those flowers?

"Mac? Has she done this before?"
"I don't remember, Grace. Emma? Do you recall her doing that last year?""No, I think this behavior all started when she joined that cat group. Let's go back to sleep."

Very funny, Jan. I think the only audience I had was the neighbor's dog and a few amused squirrels. Sometimes I think I'd just wallow around in them if it wouldn't completely destroy them. I am so sick of this blah, colorless winter!

Aime, this has had to have been one of the coolest Marches in a long while. May take me forever to thaw out.
