Hey, I have 5 kittens that are 3 days old. I dont see any signs of them going potty. Anything I can do to help my babies?

Are these orphaned kittens? Or is the momcat around? If they are orphans please see the thread that already exists here as it addresses this question extensively .

the mom cat is around
the mom cat helps them to elminate by licking them then eats the excrement. this stops the scent of the newborns attracting predators in the wild

That is so sick...but ok. At least I can rest about that. I want to show you guys/gals a picture of them but I dont know how
yeah my friend insists that her cat would NEVER do something so disgusting then was at a loss to explain how her kittens went to the toilet!
its not that bad though as its only milk in their waste. i bet it also helps the mum cat get back some of the nutrients she's lost

haha, just like eating the umblical cord too.....I also though my pretty little mamma kitty was too innocent to do something like that... ROFLMAO
mine threw up the placenta then ate it again! i think theres a sticky telling you how to post pictures in the New Cats on the Block forum.
Yeah, it's disgusting watching them eat the afterbirth and the potty, but, also, baby kittens can't potty by themselves, either. When their mother licks them, they are stimulating them to make them go potty. And all the while, they eat it, too. If there was an abandoned kitten someone was raising, they would have to get a warm, damp paper towel, and gently rub their bottoms to make them go. That's what the mother does. Anyway... good luck with your kitties!
When I read this I got a mental visual of a little Mommy cat running into the kitchen and grabbing the roll of paper towels and running back to the nest to potty all of her kittens. *grin* It just tickled my funny bone and I got to giggling about it.

yea i can't get in it, either. You have to choose the option to make the pictures publicly viewable before we are allowed to see them...or you can simply put the pictures in the post by highlighting the "IMG" link that is located under each picture you want to show us. Each IMG thingy is different for each picture, so you have to copy and paste separate ones for each picture. Here's a picture of what I am talking about:

Aww they are cute, but please keep them warm and out of drafts. If momcat isn't with them enough you can always make sock heaters to help keep them warm. The instructions are on www.kitten-rescue.com
