She was one of the strays we fed for about a year now, she was just
starting to let me get close enough to pet her. We found her in the front flower bed, her rear legs were bloody and she couldn't move them, a car is our best guess, but she was still sweet and calm when we loaded her to go to the vet. Vet took XRays, her spine was crushed. I held her paw while they put her to sleep, she meowed just once and then she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Sometimes, we are just their guides~

Oh I'm so sorry, I hate to see these stories although they are a fact of life, I guess I shouldn't even read them
You are in my thoughts and Willow is pain free now.

Poor baby!

Thank you for taking care of her, for being there for her in the final moments, and easing her pain. She is truly free now.

Poor Willow! Bless you for caring for this precious life. All your attention and hard work with her paid off - she left this world knowing her name & your love. I am ever so grateful that you were able to give her the peace & dignity of PTS vs. the agony of the natural ending that surely awaited her. Please take comfort in knowing that you were there to help her when she needed it the most; you were this cat's guardian angel and we all join you in mourning her passing.

Thank you so much for your kindness to Willow. I have fed strays too and I know how much they add to your life and how wonderful it is when they come to trust you. She must have trusted you to come to you when she needed help and to let you pick her up and care for her. Thank you for your kind goodbye to this good little girl. Your kindness to her was greatly appreciated by all of us.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and love for Willow, we planted a Cala Lily on her grave today. We have also had 2 more strays turn up in the last week so we are working on socializing them. The wheel continues to turn.
