I'm going to rejoin the gym this coming week. This past week has been really blah. I started on a new medication that makes me sleepy. Once I get used to being on it I'll be back at the gym.
At least I have little appetite on the med lol

We've missed you Beth! I was about to send out the search party
I hope your body adjusts to the new meds; the lethargy sounds like no fun

I did my hour and half walk with my friend last night, and saw a lovely sunset. I felt very good after. The only bad thing is I returned ravenous and ate more in calories than I walked I am sure, I really want to work on that. But I do know I am healthy. First things first.

I know! I mean on one end, I don't think anyone should feel ashamed they like to eat. I heard a great quote that without the culinary arts life might be unbareable. But at the same time, I know it's silly to eat more and expect to lose weight!

I know what you mean. sometimes I feel like I'm working out so I can eat. I just found these wonderful Klondike ice cream sandwiches that really hit the spot. 130 calories and 97% fat free.

Oh why did you tell me? I love things like that. I got some lime juice bars from trader joes that are like 100 calories so I am hoping one of those will do it for me and no more eating.

ack i have been terrible, not keeping up with you guys and not going to work out either.
everyone can feel free to kick my butt now.
Today is a new week though and I WILL be going to workout today.

As for the comment about working out just to eat, that is totally me. I feel like if I am excercising I can feel free to eat whatever I want. Not the best attitude to have since I would like to lose at least 5 lbs. ugh.

Well I blew off working out on Friday!!! On Saturday I spent a couple of hours knocking soil off those hugh tree stumps in order to make them lighter when they get dragged away. After that I 2.8 mile run outside. It was so windy-on the way back I lost a glove and my jacket ballooned up from all the wind-what was I thinking running with all that wind??? But I ran it in 35 minutes. I can run alot faster outside than on the treadmill?? My back and shoulders were stiff from working on those stumps. Sunday I watched the new Bridget Jones movie and did a 45 min walk on the treadmill. I'm off work today and going to do errands shortly. I rented Sideways and will watch while on treadmill this afternoon.
Fwan-I'm not familiar with a 1 cup diet. I do measure my foods however until I'm sure of their portions.
Oh and the best news-I finally can change that 2nd #!!!!! Total lost since March -13#.

I hope everyone works out successfully today!!

Oh no Fran!
As far as your weight goes: if your chest sign has gone down, that indicates that you have lost some fatty weight as that is usually the first place to go! Because you weigh more, it is quite possible you have put on muscle (which weighs more than fat), which is a very good thing!
About your stomach....doing exercises like crunches will tone the stomach muscles. But that does no good if there is a layer of fat over that. The best way to tone your stomach is to continue to do cardio on your stepper.....stick to it well and you'll definitely notice some positive results.
But (and this is for ALL of us ladies) it is important that we have realistic expectations. Women are made to carry a little bit of fat around their middles....on the anorexic or ultra-genetically blessed may brag about having rock-hard, flat abs all the time! For some of us, we may always have a little bit of pudge there, no matter how much we work out. *sigh*
