I decided to forgo the exercise today - I seem to have some kind of tummy bug or something and my head is pounding. Im about to take a bath soon to see if that helps.

Thanks Kat - I just got out of the bath and I feel so much better. Now I need to eat, I havent eaten anything all day.

Probably something light that my tummy wont reject. I was eating yoghurt every day and then I discovered that it was the culprit that was giving me stinky gas.
Well I shouldnt be too surprised since I am lactose intolerant.

Well Beryl, I am not at all a fan of tanning beds (well call 'em fake and bake) since the beach is just a few miles away. However, I do admit to going 2-3 times in the early spring so that I can wear skirts before it's warm enough to hit the beach. For me, I have olive-toned skin and tan easily, so it takes just 1-2 visits to get a deeper tan. If you have very light skin or if you burn easily, I'd take it very easy the first few times you go. Those tanning beds can be very powerful!

It's so amusing though to witness the trends in my fitness classes. The semester always starts off strong with a good number of people, then dwindles, suddenly a week before Spring Break the numbers spike way up again (yeah, a little late don't ya think?), then die out and suddenly pick up once again right before the end of the semester (like right now). I can't help but laugh because I wonder if these people really think they're going to make a difference in how they look by coming ONE week before they hit the beach??? It's a big joke amongst all of us aerobics instructors.
You're so lucky to live in FL (doesn't bikini season start in like...February? lol). I miss tanning. I'm 27 now and I'm at the age when I really need to start preserving my skin (geez, I sound like a mummy). Incidents of cancer runs pretty high in my family also so I had a few reasons to slap on some sun block. I do miss the way I look with a nice golden tan.

I've been tempted to get a spray-on tan for starters. Tan fat looks so much better than white fat. That way, maybe I won't be so self-consious on the beach.

Just got back from an hour spin class at the UCF gym. Waffle's very interested in how salty I am, I guess that should be expected when you've been sweating like a 400 pd man!!!

LOL, that is so funny about Waffle. My girls are always interested in me after a workout too. It's so funny what they find pleasing to the nose!
I didn't workout yesterday b/c I've had this kinda nasty stomach virus. I still have it today (not to mention the fact that Cosette goes in for her spay tonight, so I'm a nervous wreck). Hopefully I can do some sort of workout at home (most likely my Crunch Pilates video) this weekend....but all I really want to do is spoil my little baby girl after surgery!!!

I took last night off too as I hadn't slept well since sunday nite (too hot!!) I did about 1 hr of yardwork. Feel much better today-I might be overdoing it at times. Have to make up for it today due to munchie day at work!! Taco dip, chips and dip, ice cream shrimp dip............ But that was my breakfast and lunch too!! Yes I know highly nutritious but the scale is close to a major drop!!

That sounds like a LOT of fun Marge!
Actually...that inspires me. There are some really neat trails out on Skidaway Island (beautiful area surrounded by marshes) so maybe Bradley and I can talk a walk out there on Sunday....hmmm....

It's never too late to get a good stretch in Fwan! To stretch your calves: stand up, place one heel next to the opposite foots toes, then pull up the toes on the foot that is in front and make sure to do both sides!!!

To stretch your quads: EASY! Just bend your leg backwards toward your butt and hold onto your foot, holding the leg at your booty and do both sides.

To get another great leg stretch: sit on the floor with your knees bent, then take one leg and cross it over the other leg, push the leg still on the floor further up so that it's pushing the other leg into your chest and do both sides on that one!

Make sure when you stretch that you're holding it for at least 15 seconds! Anything less and your muscle isn't actually stretching, just rubberbanding, and that's not good. You should definitely stretch after any exercise though! It'll save you from a lot of that pain (not all of it, but some).

What they say about stress relief is really true! Yesterday I was in such a bad mood during work. All the employees (and owners) were whining or bi***ing about something. "I don't feel good" Why do I have to do that when he gets to..." "My girlfriend is doing this..." bla bla blah - blah blah blah blah!

So - I almost drove right by Curves. I just plain wasn't in the mood. Then I thought, why should I ruin my record this month (4 times a week so far) because of people I work with?

As soon as I started working out I started feeling better. At the end while I was stretching I felt wonderful! I felt energized and relaxed at the same time. Kinda high.
I'm so glad I went!

I worked in yard (again last night for about an hour and a half. BUT..........I'm basically done with all my initial cleanup. On Tues I have my big flower bed and I asked DH to help so I was cutting down flower stems and I asked him to rake and put in cart to haul to burn pile and he said why don't I just rake into lawn and he will run ofver with lawn mower. EUREKA!!!!!!!! Why didn't I EVER think of that. It will cut my spring clean up time I bet over 50%. Plus its good for the lawn. Anyhow since I ate so crummy yesterday I then did 2.9 miles on the treadmill and finished the day by having a big glass of wine (had to finish the bottle!!) and some cheese and crackers.
Today the scale was still ok!!!

WOO HOO RENEE!!!!
You get the rockout award of the day for motivation! Awesome!

Gail, when you're done with the yardwork...what ever will you do?
Hehe, glad to know the scale was kind to you!!!
You've been working very hard, so that's not at all surprising!

With Cosette's spay, I didn't work out yesterday and I won't today, but while I'm home tomorrow I'm going to do my Crunch Pilates and then Bradley and I will go hiking Sunday.
Fran, another idea for stretching: look up some stretches online that actually have pictures of people doing the stretches. For some people (like moi) it's easier to see a picture of the stretch to know what you're doing! Hope your calves are feeling better today
