I have a SanDisk player myself and the sound is just incredible. It stores far more music than I could listen to in a few cardio trips (which are usually 40 min at a time for me) so there's plenty of space. If I were you I would just check out all of the various MP3 players and find out which one might be best for you. Circuit City has a large selection and the people there can answer any questions you may have. That's where mine came from (as Brendan is an employee there). Also, the vast majority of MP3 players now come with a workout armband that holds the player on your arm while you workout. It's QUITE handy!!
I do trust the teacher, and I know in the long run it's good, but sometimes the morning after I feel like I slept 12 hours.Originally Posted by katspixiedust
Mind/body classes like Yoga and Pilates can have very different effects on different people. I wouldn't be too worried about it Marge, as long as you're not feeling any kind of new and unexplained pain, it's probably ok. As long as you're at a legit gym, the yoga instructor HAS to have a specific yoga certification and has to renew it every 2 years (meaning they have to do a bunch of continuing education workshops and seminars). It may just be that your reaction is emotional. If you don't mind this reaction, I wouldn't worry about it, if it bothers you or makes you uncomfortable, simply talk to your yoga instructor right before or after class. As instructors we HAVE to make ourselves available to answer questions about the class. While I can't always answer all questions that get posed to me, I always do my best as I want people to keep coming back, so I'm sure your instructor will do the same. Hope that helps a bit.
ya know, the stair mill really scared me at first, but my trainer challenged me to try it (i was bored with the elipitical). And now the stair mill is my new fav. I like it because I can read while I workout.Originally Posted by Ali012281
Mmmmm. going out to eat is sooo rewarding after a hard workout (also defeating sometimes too... did you get cheese cake?) I'm soooo proud that you can do the stairmill. I am way too clumsy to pick up my feet and watch the monitor.I'd end up cracking my skull open on the floor lol.

Fran, have you tried any of those ab exercises that I posted? That is an amazing workout in and of itself. You'll feel the burn for sure!
Hmmm....well, I do know that it is very important to go slowly (when they say to lift slowly, pause, etc. , it's for a reason- 1)it increases the efficacy of the workout and 2) it is better on your back).Originally Posted by fwan
