I'm just now joining the workout thread!! I only do cardio, I run 5 miles 4 times a week. It's been really tough this past week and a half. We're moving and I've been painting and cleaning the new place and packing the old place up so I've been pretty pooped at the end of the day. With bikini season coming up, I can't afford to get lazy now. I'm still working off Christmas dinner! lol!! Seriously, I gain about 10 pounds every winter b/c I hate running inside on the treadmill. I much prefer running outside (as long as no dogs chase me)
Anyway, I am gonna stop being lazy and get my butt out and RUN from here on out.
Oh that sucks that you have to lead the warm-up. I can't even STAND in front of a crowd much less instruct a warm-up. I'm sure you'll do fine, though. You're a dancer, right? I guess you're used to performing in front of people (tho it's a little different when you're all alone). Maybe you can have someone up there with you to help lead the warm-up.Originally Posted by katspixiedust
So far this week I taught my Hardbodies class on Tuesday and Brendan and I went and did some cardio yesterday. Today I'm teaching my other Hardbodies class and then I'll be teaching 3 classes tomorrow (subbing for 2). I talked to the woman organizing Relay for Life and it turns out I'm going to have to be on a STAGE leading the warm-up. EEK. I'm going to need lots of positive vibes for my Saturday morning warm-up for this thing, it's making me terribly nervous!!!
You would rather work out inside? I guess I just like the fresh air and sunshine. If I work out inside, I just end up watching TV and not really concentrating on running. Also, you can always run a different route. The treadmill just bores me. My husband is like you, he always wants to do his workout indoors. I have to twist his arm to get him to run outside with me.Originally Posted by fwan

Yeah I've performed tons of times in dances with other people and alone, and I'm very used to teaching group exercise classes. The differences that make this so much more terrifying for me are that unlike dance, I have to put my neck on the line by actually talking through it and making sure everyone's doing the proper thing, and what makes it different from a normal group ex. class is that I'm on a stage and there's hundreds of people instead of 40 or below. That's what really has me so nervous!! And the thing is, when I told my coordinator that I would do it I had expected other instructors to agree to do it as well. Thanks to it being at 7am though no one else did. I'm just scared of looking like an idiot! I've been practicing it in my head a lot though and comforting myself by saying "Well, if you look like an idiot, at least it's only for half an hour!"Originally Posted by Kellyyfaber

They wouldn't have asked you if they weren't confident you would do well. They picked the best example they could to "lead the pack!" You are going to be FANTASTIC!!! Enjoy it!!!Originally Posted by katspixiedust
