I'm glad they always tell you that about your knees and toes!!
That's one of those things I probably say 3 or 4 times per class just to ensure EVERYONE hears it!! It's SO important!

Everyone with back pains, I hope they start to feel better soon!! I know how awful that is.

I decided that I would change the way I format my class a bit today. Normally I'm a low variation, high rep kind of instructor. But since I've been teaching this exact class for 1.5 years now I decided that I needed a little change! So, today I switched and did a high variation, low rep class! It went well, and had me more out of breath than usual since there's more explaining involved with more exercises! Also, I went in there with INTENSE nervous energy as I had gotten myself all anxious about life on my way to the gym so that contributed to my CONSTANT jabbering in there! I think I worked them pretty hard though today, and I know I worked myself hard. Hopefully they'll all be feeling it when tomorrow rolls around.

Yay! That would be oh-so-much fun! I'll keep my fingers crossed that that day comes while I'm still a student and teaching (that should give us about 3 years, since I'm staying *hopefully* for my masters)!

Oh man, that will be great if you're actually able to stay there for your masters. You are doing such a smart thing, going straight from undergrad to grad school. Wish I had done the same!

Well my mom actually went back and got her master's just a few years ago after having been out of school for a LONG time and so I saw how difficult it was. Also, she told me "If you will go all of the way through your PhD without stopping, we'll help you the whole way." So, I've definitely got some strong incentives there!!

today was a non workout day for me. I went from work to pick up my car (which was in the shop), to the vet with Lilly, to coffee night with some girlfriends, to dinner with the boyfriend, and then did not get home till almost 9pm. Needless to say, I am exhausted!! Tomorrow is a personal training day however, so I WILL be at the gym tomorrow. Yay!

Marge, an hour walk is awesome!
Way to go!
After the past day that I've had, I hit Curves hard after work. My back felt a lot better and the workout did a LOT to ease some of my negative emotions and stress.
How'd everyone else do?

I did feel ok about the walk, it was due to the fact that I had to walk over something to my boss who is across campus, a 15 minute walk. So up and back is a half hour, then i already do my half hour. So total it was an hour, not cheating even though I HAD to do it for work!

Not sure what I am going to do today, probably my nordic track.

I was bad and didn't go to Curves yesterday.
Work had me SO STRESSED OUT that my plan was to get off work and drink heavily...well I had a few beers. I could have worked my stress off instead, but I didn't, so make up night is tonight!

I went and did cardio today for 30 min then abs. Same thing yesterday.
I won't get to go tomorrow because I have to make a turkery for my husbands troop lunch. I'm too paranoid to leave the house with the oven on.

I'm changing my diet a lot too.

Sadly I think I have a bladder infection.
I went and got cranberry pills today and I am going to take them to see if that will take care of it before I go to the dr and ask for antibiotics. I'd like to avoid them if I can.

I got some soy protein today that I'm going to start mixing in with my fruit smoothies.
Mmmm

I like your new siggy Beth!! I changed my diet back in January and fell off the wagon a few weeks ago.
Right about the time we got Lilly I got way stressed out and stopped eating right. Maybe we should start a separate healthy eating thread.

Sounds good to me. I'm going to do my best to try and keep a daily food journal. Today so far I've had:
Breakfast: 1/4 c cheese and chive egg beater on 1/2 of an english muffing and a bananna. Then I went to the gym.

Lunch: 1/2 cantelope with cottage cheese and sunflower seeds.
Snack: handful of chips with some salsa.

No idea what I'm doing for dinner. I'm still stressing about the turkey I have to make tomorrow.

Oh Renee! I was about to say that a workout is THE perfect way to de-stress (that's my motivation for working out this week!) but you beat me to it. Anyway, cheers for beers!
and I'm glad you'll get to Curves tonight- it'll de-stress you in a way that beers can't, I promise

Fran, that stepper sounds cool. Does it come with a workout video to follow or something? New workout clothes will keep you motivated, too

Beryl and Beth, y'all continue doing a great job! The healthy eating thread is a great idea; unfortunately, you won't see me on that one too much
, though maybe it will inspire me to make a few diet changes too....
Already got my workout clothes on and I'm off work in 20 minutes....WOO HOO!

I'm not sure what I am going to do yet, probably my nordic track. With day light savings starting this weekend I can walk on week nights so that will be nice.

On side note, for some reason I have been waking up super early and not able to fall back asleep, I think cause of the sun shining strongly into my room in the am. SO I am a little sleep deprived every day. This is throwing me off a bit, however I am sure I will adjust soon enough. (I should just pull the shades but i do like the sun shining in the am!)
