Oh interesting. I've never heard of anyone gaining weight on the patch. Though, each body reacts in its own unique ways!

It isn't the patch that made me gain. It was the shot. I ballooned out. I was on Celexa too and I gained 10 lbs on that.

Katherine is so right about everyone's bodies reacting differently. My best friend has been on "the shot" for 7 years and the chick is still a size 2! How fair is life????????

WOW. 7 years?!! Is she planning on getting off that sometime soon? I was told that 4 years should be the max to be on it. But then again everyones doctor has a different view of how things should be.

I don't know when she's getting off of it! I've never done the Depo thing, so I don't know much about it.
I'm sure she'll get off of it at least by next year when she gets married (or soon after) so they can start makin' babies!!!

GREAT job with the difficult workout Beryl. You earned a day to relax and take it easy!
That's a great reward for pushing yourself so hard yesterday!
Beth, did you get your work out done yet. POP THAT MIDOL! I'm in the same boat as you, Cramp City USA today! But I've heard working out can really ease cramps. Let's hope so- gonna do 3 laps around the Curves circuit today. WOO HOO! Only 2.5 hours to go and all will be great.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!!
Amy (and all of my workout buddies), sure, my name's Renee.

I was thinking about the allergist or a dermatologist, but I'm going to see if I can take care of it myself if I can. I have an HMO, so that means going to my primary and then scheduling the specialist in ....however many weeks, months that takes... By then it would probably be better anyway.
Sorry about the cramping y'all are having. Have you ever tried those pads that heat up? You apply them to your tummy or back - wherever it aches more... Theraputic something...they make one for cramps. I haven't tried it because I don't get have those symptoms anymore, but my friends have and said it works.

YAY babies
It will take her at least a year to get preggy after the wedding
She should try the patch or an oral contraceptive to help her get in a normal cycle again.
How exciting for your friend.
YAY weddings and babies!!

Thermacare?
I was just talking about them with my mom.
The patches are really expensive though.

Is oil of olay hypoallergenic? Maybe try a different lotion?

The patches are expensive, but I think they're good for 6-8 hours each. The Oil of Olay I bought was "complete." I've been using Oil of Olay "Active Hydrating" for +/- 25 years, so it's probably because I bought the wrong kind.
I got my original kind today, but my face still burns. I'm going to give it a little time before I do anything about it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Got my workout clothes on. Only half an hour until I can jet on out of here and get to the gym! WOO HOO!
I've definitely found that if you change into your workout clothes before you leave work, you are much more pumped about going straight to the gym.
So here's my get motivated tip of the week: bring your gym bag to work and change before you leave. That way, you'll feel obligated to get your exercise on

I did 34.5 minutes on treadmill before garden club last night as there are always good "treats". I had a glass of punch, 2 teeny rice krispie bars, a "turtle" and a cookie-oddly enough the cookie wasn't that good. Oh and a half slice of a lemony quick bread.
The scale gods were good this morning as I lost more weight!!!!!!!!
I down 8 lbs since March 1st. Not starving myself (except for beer) had pizza on Saturday!! When to a candy store and picked up some nice easter candy-if I am going to have some candy and limit myself-I'm going to have the "good stuff"!!!!
Great job everyone on the workouts. Keep up the good work.
We need to get more people on this thread.

Excelent advice.
I'll remember that when I get a job and I'm actually on day shift lol.
I usually work 3-11 and most gyms aren't open that late.
Have a great workout!

Horay Gail!!! That's great that the scales are tipping downward!! And I hear you about the starving for beer. I've actually tried the Ultra Light beers (low carb low cal (less taste)) but they aren't too bad. At least I can 'fit in' when I spend time with hubby and his soldiers.
You might want to try one next time you do pizza and beer night!!

That is very awesome Gail, congrats!!!!
Pizza would just never be the same without beer, I'm with you on that!
What do you think we can do to get more people to this board?
Hmmmm...
If you're reading this board but have not yet posted, why not post something now so we know you're out there. Let us know if you find this helpful/motivational or a load of hooey!!!

OMG, I missed out on soooooooooooooo much of this thread today!!!

Amy - Your tip is sooooo right, I pack my gym bag and bring it to work on a lot of days. Even on my most tired days when my students have worn me thin, if I put on those clothes and my sneakers I am immediately energized.

Katherine and Beth - I am no longer on any kind of BC because of the horrible side effects I had. I always felt sick and I gained weight too. I am so happy to be off of it.

Renee - I hope you get your allergy figured out. I bet it is just the Oil of Olay. Still, no fun to deal with.

Gail - Congrats on the weight loss!!! I have not been on the scale in almost 2 weeks. I am a little scared to look at the reading.

I am also skipping the gym today. I seriously can barely walk from my workout with my trainer yesterday. We did all lower body lifting and I am SORE SORE SORE. I figure I will take tonight off and do some time on the eliptical tomorrow. (btw -- the eliptical is one of my favs as well for good cardio!)

KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK LADIES!!!!

Being on Yasmin these past couple of years has made a world of difference for me. The level of Estrogen in it is so low compared to the others that I never get sick on it and I actually haven't had any of the side effects taht I was having with the other two I had taken. I have to say that I was SO relieved to finally found one that worked out for me as I actually need BC for more than just it's principal use, I need it to actually have any kind of regular period.

Yes I love the elliptical! It's my favorite cardio machine. Especially now that I have to lay off high-impact exercise while I'm taking the vitamin Glucosamine to rebuild some of my lost knee cartiledge.

Sounds like you had a tough workout with your trainer! I love the feeling of knowing I just had my butt kicked at the gym. Soreness makes me feel so proud. Am I crazy or is anyone else like that??
