Hi everyone

Well, a few of us TCS-ers have decided to start a thread to keep everyone involved in regular workouts motivated!
It can sometimes be very hard to stay motivated to work out on a regular basis (especially in the beginning), but like the song says, you can get by with a little help from your threads.
So, if you are one of us who is either trying to stick to a healthy diet, working out, or both, this thread is for you! When you are having one of those days (You know: "I have cramps", "it's too cold", etc.), we will be there to help you with the extra encouragement you may want or need! Our goal is to keep each other motivated because it will lead to happier, healthier TCS-ers.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and let's all get motivated!!!

Aw well I'd be glad to help in any way I can. I have a couple of textbooks on the stuff so I suppose I could look up any info I don't know offhand, or I can just be everyone's cheerleader!

motivation is my constant battle. That's why I signed up for 3 mo. with a personal trainer at my gym. but still on days that i don't see him it can be hard to go hit the gym hard!

That's why you have us Beryl (even though I am sure it is hard for you to tear you away from Lily; I'm having the same problem with Cosette (who, btw, is on my shoulder as I type this and says "MEOW" to y'all!)) We'll give you whatever motivation you want, starting with this: the more you work out, the less likely you are to become depressed!

I worked out right after work today and now I'm set for the weekend.
May even do some abwork tomorrow and Sunday (bikinis are not forgiving)

Count me in.

I am on a routine of walking a half hour a day. On the weekends I also walk an additional hour.
Then Tuesdays I am attending a yoga class that is very intensive. Also doing my cross country ski machine at least 15 minutes twice a week.

It's not a strenuous as maybe should be but right now I am being consistent and that is my first goal.

It is so hard to tear myself away from Lilly! Especially since she won't really come out from under the bed.

so, i skipped my workout yesterday and tonight (bad beryl), but tomorrow I am planning to do both my 45 min. of cardio and 60 min. of weights. So i won't feel as bad about skipping two days.

Becoming consistent with a routine is more important that pushing yourself to your limits when you're starting! You can always up your workouts, while doing too much at the beginning may keep you from enjoying the process and lead to burn out quicker! Good for you for having such a solid plan!!!!!

Thanks, that's how I feel about it. And I have found things I like namely the Walking, yoga and my nordic machine in front of the boob tube...

On the weekends I walk this one trail that i just LOVE, very picturesque, so I actually *look forward to it* rather than dread going.

So did anyone do any working out this weekend?
I worked out Friday after work and today had a bit of a workout- lugging my new entertainment center and new 27" TV (with the help of my father) up 2 flight of stairs. I'll be lucky if I'm not extremely sore tomorrow, but I'll be going to the gym after work tomorrow anyway.
How'd everyone else do?

This weekend I really blew off the diet.
Fri was stressful... babysat and had a nice chat with my neighbor (her hubby is in Iraq) and so we did pizza and beer. Then last night hubbys friend he made in Germany came over with his kid and wife and we did a bbq with my neigbor and her kids.... SOOOOOOO being exausted today we didn't get out like we wanted to (530 am comes way too fast when you go to bed at 1 am LOL). But dinner was Salmon, wild rice and asparagus... dessert was brie cheese with blueberry sauce. Thank Goodness I renewed my gym pass this month.
I know what I am doing tomorrow morning.

So did you work out this morning Beth?

Beryl, great job on the working out this weekend!!!

I'm not going today as planned because I can hardly even WALK today. When my dad and I were lugging the heavy heavy heavy TV upstairs to my apt. yesterday, the box pinned down my leg at one point. So now I'm limping today and I pulled or strained some muscles in my back. It even hurts to type!!!
So I'm taking a needed rest-day today, but I plan on returning to Curves tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday, PMS and all!

So today starts a new work week everyone! Let's all try to get 3, 30-minute workouts in!!! We can do it!

I'll be going to the gym shortly.
Then I'm going to paint my bedroom... I'm assuming that that is exercise too? LOL
