I can imagine that living in a tribe, obviously, everyone would know in person, but nowadays you can't really do that. So I think they are doing baby first, then immediate family in person and then everyone else by whatever means available!

And congratulations on your pregnancy!! Are you going to find out what you're having?
yes very good points you make there. I have Ashley here freaking out thinking that I wouldnt tell her the name until they met in person and who knows when that could be LOL

I think its a great idea just telling family in person and close friends as well.
Our families will be pacing up and down the hospital halls when I go into labour LOL - especially chris' parents as its their first grandchild as well

thankyou and no we arent going to find out the sex - originally we were going to but I have most certainly changed my mind and thankfully Chris agrees with me - so at this stage, no we wont find out.

I went and visited my new little niece last night and she really is the most beautiful thing - even if I am biased! So tiny and looks just like her mum!!

Her name is Francesca Shwe. Shwe (pronounced `Shway') is an old Burmese name that means `gold' and is Tanya's grandmother and great-grandmother's name. Tanya is of Burmese origin and really wanted that in the name somewhere. Francesca is just a name they really liked right from the start - not related to anyone they know. Except that Tan's father is called Frank so he's pretty thrilled!

My brother is completely besotted with his new daughter. Watching him change his first nappy was like something out of an old comedy movie but it was very sweet. They are just smitten - and I don't blame them she is just an adorable little creature.
I will post some pics as soon as I can find my camera!!

Congratulations!

I know you were just about to go nuts with the waiting, but it's over now, thank god. I'll bet you're happy to be an aunt. That's wonderful!
