ok so I am trying to be a good mommy and help Lilly get adjusted to her new environment. Lilly has been home with us now for aprox. 26 hours. She has found a nice spot under the bed and has come out to use her litter box twice and to explore once before getting scared and going back under the bed.

Tonight I decided to try and feed her some wet food at meal time. I brought it into the room and she immediately perked up and came out. She was more interested in snuggling however, than eating. She sniffed at her food and licked it a bit, but didn't really eat any of it. then she was back under the bed. that was about an hour ago.

I just went in to check on her (still under the bed), and I noticed a shiny substance under the bed. I assumed it was either pee or vomit. So I ran to get a tissue to wipe it up. Its clear with a little pink hue to it. I does not smell like cat pee so I am assuming she threw up.

Should I be worried? Does this warrent an immediate visit to the vet? or could this just be a result of her being stressed and getting used to her new surroundings?

I just want my new baby to be healthy and happy in her new home.

I'm sorry I don't have much advice, but I have a question...
Are you giving her different food than she was getting at the shelter? If so she could be a bit upset from the change....
Maybe a hairball?

I don't think you should worry yet (but of course you will...I would
) I'd keep an eye on her for awhile and see if she does it again.

She is more than likely upset about the change in her world. If you have plain yogurt with active cultures, see if she will lick some off a spoon for you. One thing to keep in mind is she could have found something bad under the bed or in a corner and eaten it. The pink tinge could be blood, and that is concerning- how is she acting now?

Well I am not sure what they fed her at Petsmart. They never told me. I know you are supposed to gradually switch their food over, but out of my hundreds of questions that was one i forgot
so chances are she is upset by that. Maybe I'll try to get a hold of someone tomorrow to find out what they were previously feeding her.

MA, i am pretty sure she is stressed. i was worried at first that the pink *might* be blood too, but i think she threw up right after trying a bit of the wet food I gave her, which has a pink tinge to it as well. I just went in to check on her and she came out from under the bed for a few headbutts and scratches under the chin. when she heard Ebony crying at the door she went back under the bed to figure out what was going on. anyway, no signs of her vomiting again, i think she's alright for now.

Well last time I posted to this thread was the first day I brought Lilly home awhile ago. Yesterday and today Lilly has thrown up once a day. I have looked for patterns (is she doing it right after eating, etc...) but I can't find anything out of the ordinary. She isn't voimiting all the time, just once a day. She hasn't eaten as much today as normal either. Any ideas on what might be wrong? I don't want to rush her to the vet yet, but if someone here with more expertise than me thinks she should be seen soon, I'll call asap.

I wish I had some great advice for you but the only thing I can say is, last year I tried to introduce another kitty to jessie. After the first couple nights, she began to throw up in the bedroom. I was really concerned and called my vet. She told me that it was more than likely from stress. I ended up giving the kitten to a friend of mine because I was not patient for one and I was too worried about my jessie being upset. After about 2 days, she quit throwing up.
Although I do not have good advice for you, I want you to know that you and lilly are in my thoughts and prayers. I want everything to turn out well and I am praying that it's nothing more than a stress reaction. Lots of hugs to you and her.
