I was petting Vicket who is my elderly girl, and noticed on one side of her muzzle where a whisker used to be rooted she has a tiny furrless patch of skin, like a lesion. It's dry, not swollen or infected, she's happy to let me rub and stroke it and her teeth and jaw are ok, so nothing around there hurts. She's eating well, and I gave her dried food to double check her teeth, she's munching biscuits happily on that side. Does anyone know what this might be, or should we head to a vet and get this looked at? Because she's elderly I tend to panic at any potential sign of trouble, but she seems fine and lively in herself.

Truely - I don't believe it to be a problems - just keep an eye on it. However if it makes you feel better go have her looked at.

Agreed. Sasha is almost 13 and from time to time I swear he'll grow new whiskers, they come in so white and huge. It may be that she rubbed against something, nothing to worry about. Put a dab of NeoSporin on it with a q-tip (a tiny dab) and watch for any change in color or consistency. It should be gone in 3 days....that part of a kitty heals up really fast. If any change at all, call your vet, but as playful and alert as she sounds, I'll bet it's just fine.
