What type of litter do you use? (Or shall I say, your cats use?)

What type of litter do you buy for kitty?

I buy CJ and Billy Fresh Step, because Billy has, for some reason, no matter how I change his diet, the nastier smelling poo ever! And Fresh Step masks the smell a lot. I was just wondering......

What type of litter do you buy for kitty?

My roommates kitty Coco has that same problem. With Waffle that's really not an issue though. When Coco uses Waffle's litterbox however, I can be across the apartment and know what he's done!
I'm trying to remember what it is that she buys for his litter...hrmmmmmmmm...I can't remember. If I do I'll come back in here and let you know though. And hey, if I don't remember before then, I'll be back at my apartment this evening and can tell you for a fact what she uses.

We are worlds best users, because for whatever reason the clay litters really affect gibby, and in an uri kind of way that I don't like. the pee smell is totally masked.. poop however, is .. verrrrry stinky.. as there aren't any perfumes.

How much do they cost, if you can remember? I'm actually running by PetSmart later tonight to help my friend get a pet fish (she unfortunately can not join us cat lovers as her whole family is deathly allergic to them, so they'd never be able to visit her apartment, so a fish is the best she can do for now
) so I'll have to remember to check that out!

You can buy a 21 lbs box of Fresh Step at Wal-Mart for about $9.

Currently I'm using The World's Best, although I plan on going back to Tidy Cat or Fresh Step. Gandalf has the worst smelling poo and WBCL doesn't mask the smell at all, of course it doesn't help that he doesn't cover it up but I notice it a lot more with WBCL.

The litterlocker is just under $20.00 and the cartliage for bags is about $7.50 or so, but they last a long time you tie it off and remove the litter filled bag and then tie another knot put it back on the wheel and there ya go, I really think its worth it, that way you don't have to keep it sittng in a bag till you take it out, and you can get by emptying the thing 1 time a week if you like or every few days, there great no stinky room lol

We recently switched to Citramax. I was skeptical at first, but my cats absolutely love the stuff! It is made from dried orange peels and has a texture like hamster bedding. For the first time ever, my cats completely bury everything. I just scoop out the solids and stir the rest, and it's like new. So far, it's been two weeks and I haven't needed to change it yet.

I also highly recommend the Litter Locker and the Clevercat top entry litter box.

I read a couple of things recently about kitties having all sorts of problems from using clumping litter. I don't know how true it is, but I thought you might like to know.

Maybe his diet is contributing to the smell? Depending on what Buddy eats his poo can go from heavenly (ok not quite) to downright something that came from the deepest pits of hell itself. After giving up on Pounce treats his poo seems to be back to the normal not stinky poo I can tolerate.

Uhh... Cirque... that's Billy.
I've tried changing his diet. His brothers, his mother's, and his father's are the same way. CJ's is not quite as bad, but, I still think it's something from his family.

Both my cats use WBCL. It's great stuff. I never smell urine and I only smell poo if one of the cats does not cover it. And I also believe diet has a lot to do with how stinky the poo is.

We use this brand too, based on the suggestion of Stephanie and Sierra! We also have the litter locker... I used to like Tidy Cats Crystals but Baylee didn't like it as much, I don't think.

Tidy Cats scoopable. I would love to try Swheat scoop but hardly anywhere around here carries it and the places that do charge $13 for the smallest bag!

No complaints about Tidy Cats though

I made the switch from WBCL to Tidy Cats Scoopable (Multiple Cats), and so far we've had no problems. The smell is masked immediately and sometimes I forget that I need to scoop the box.

Does your kitty have stinky poo?
