oh Susie, thank goodness I wore waterproof mascara today hon, to read that lovely tribute.
Of course you can have a prayer for your wonderful Dad. I am my father's only daughter. We lost my mom when I was 3 and he raised me and my 6 brothers thereafter. My Dad wasn't as extroverted it seemed, as your Dad. He was silent and reserved, but he was a musical genius. He turned down a full scholarship to Juliard to go to the University of Chicago, so we wouldn't starve if he became a concert pianist. So he threw all that talent away for all us kids. At night after dinner, he's take out his sax and play on the front porch in the sunset.
I love my Dad, too, he's one-of-a-kind and
HERE IS FOR YOUR DAD!! HAPPY, HAPPY HUGS & PRAYERS!!

I want to thank you ALL, even if I didn't answer personally to each of you, for your thoughts and prayers......you all mean the world to me!

Sending good vibes, it's been 10 years since my Mom passed and I am still not over it. It is important that you
do acknowledge the actual day he passed, some people try to
"be tough" and move on but that doesn't work.

Anne Lamott said that people who have lost someone
always "walk with a limp" and I know what she means. Not that we can't live good lives obviously but it's always there.

Susie, I just wanted to add and to let you know that my post for you was a happy post. I have this thing about living fully and celebrating a life like your wonderful father's, so I wanted something warm to relfect that today for you. I hope you're ok with that.

Susie, I hope you find comfort today! I think the hardest thing in the whole world is losing someone you're that close to. I know he's watching you and is very proud of the wonderful person you are.

from me, as I'm not a "praying person". You are in my thoughts - I lost my dad in August, 2002, and still miss him terribly. I do believe the departed watch over us, and visit us in our dreams, so they're never far away.

Your description of your father caused me to tear up too. I hope you find peace and comfort in such sweet memories.

At the kitty's beck and call
The wonderful thing is that you felt so deeply for your dad. He lives on in the happy memories and kind thoughts you have for him. Today of all days, you should feel surrounded by his love - because he clearly had so much of it to give
