I don't want to bring anyone down, but today is the 2 year anniversary of my dad's passing......I was just wondering if anyone has any extra prayers, if they could say one for the best friend I ever had......It's been 24 months since I've talked to him in person. At times it seems like yesterday, and others it seems like 24 years! Thanks.

I'm sorry it's a somber day for you, Susie. I will say a prayer for you and for your family. Hoping that someday you will be able to remember the good memories without so much pain.

Susie, hon, I'll say several prayers for you today, and will light a candle in his memory tonight too. {{{HUGS}}} for you my friend, and remember we love you!

I've been told I am the female version of Dad. I disagree, but I am alot like him.
He owned several businesses as I grew up, and when he could, he always took me to work with him. He would "put me to work", counting pennies for him, washing cars for him, sweeping, etc. I always got paid with a trip to the Dairy Queen and a $5 bill. We would go to softball games together. Mom worked in retail, so she usually worked on Saturdays. Those became "our" days. We would go for a ride, and then to a nice dinner, whether that be at McDonalds or a fancy smancy place. When ever I got my heart broke, he was always there. Even later in life, after I had moved home after my divorce, we were still close. The day I moved out to marry Jerry, I watched him in my rear view mirror as I drove away to my new home, and he stood in front of the garage watching me. I cried all the way to Jerry's house. I knew I'd miss him and he'd miss me. The day that Dad died, he called each of us into his room to say goodbye, and when it was Jerry's turn, he took his hand and told him to take good care of me, and that he loved him.

That is my dad..........

No Cindy, actually, I am the youngest of 5. Admittedly, I was the closest to Dad, though he loved us all.

That sounds like me and my Dad, Susie -- different activities, same bond. (I dread the day.)

Prayers you've got! and hugs

And a dainty little lick of consolation, from your namesake...

Be gentle with yourself, dear.

Hugs to you! I lost my dad at 11 and my mom in 1991 it still hurts and I miss them terribly but time does make it easier to deal with!
