So last night Brendan and I went and saw the Orlando Cirque Du Soleil, which is La Nouba. It was INCREDIBLE!!!! I can't get over it!

Has anyone else ever been to any Cirque show? La Nouba or otherwise? I'd love to hear your experiences!

I wish I could aptly describe this show but I just can't. I'm so amazed at the things some people can do. I felt as though I was holding my breath half of the time or gasping or just plain sitting on the edge of my seat. This was one of the most entertaining shows I have ever been to and was absolutely worth the high cost of the tickets. If any of you EVER get the opportunity to go, GO! Splurge on the tickets because I guarantee you will not regret it!!!

I am just one majorly impressed girl right now!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the show so much! What a great date for you two
I'm not a big circus fan b/c of how animals tend to be treated but....I must admit I am highly intrigued by Cirque.Does La Nouba run year-round in Orlando? I may have to check it out on my next visit...

I plan on hitting one of their shows when I'm in Vegas this fall. They were featured on 60 minutes a month or so ago and the whole set-up was quite fascinating.

Cirque du Soleil is MAGIC!

We saw "Allegria" on DVD at a friend's place last spring. It was awesome. We had barely got our eyes back in our heads when my brother sprang for tickets for us to take Dad to "Quidam" as his birthday present.

Yes, the tickets are EXPENSIVE. But they are worth every penny, and then some. For anyone not keen on circus, don't think Barnum and Bailey. This is in a totally different league. To start with, none of those animal acts. This is a festival of excellent original music, movement, dance, humour, pathos, that is in a class by itself. It is not overstating the case to say that one is riveted to the performance and constantly picking one's jaw up off the floor.

They've been to Vancouver two years in a row and, sadly, we are not on the tour this year. We would defintely have gone to whatever show came to town, and I HIGHLY recommend that if you have an opportunity to see a Cirque du Soleil performance you do not pass it up. Start saving now, if necessary.

Does the show have anything to do with your screen name?

Nope.. just an alias I started using on a "MUD" game when I was using a "Cirque" brandname keyboard at the time.
I later came to find out it was french for Circus :p

My parents and sister's family went to see it at Disney when they were there in December. They said it was amazing.

We saw "O" at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and it was the most mesmerizing thing I have ever seen. It's their premier show and we splurged for two first row blacony tix at $150/ea. It's the show done on water -and with horses in the water!) and it was the perfect place to view it, because you could see the water really well but also see the optical effects, as the balcony wasn't so high that it spoiled it.

No worries Amy, just as Fran said, no animals.
Yes, La Nouba is year round in Orlando. It's a permanent fixture in Downtown Disney! I've always seen it when I would go to Pleasure Island or concerts at the House of Blues (both also in Downtown Disney) but never managed to go bc of the price. I'm so glad I finally did though, it was truly amazing!! You should absolutely check it out next time you're down here!!!

WOW! That sounds interesting! I definitely plan on going back to see this one again sometime in the future, and also checking out any others if I happen to be on a trip somewhere close to where the shows are. Glad you enjoyed yours as much as I enjoyed mine!!

Thanks Rigel!!

I wish I could have taken pics, but due to the dangerous nature of the act the flashes would put the performers in danger so cameras are prohibited. The only pics I have from the night are of Brendan and I, and quite frankly, that's just not as awe inspiring as the show itself!
