My vet said to put Norsorb, those tiny black plastic crystals in a clean litter box in order to catch his urine to send out for testing. He has a UTI and has been on Baytril. I just wonder how can anything in results be accurate when catching urine this way.The cat did urinate but when pouring the urine in a container all the crystals go with it though the vet said its fine??

The sample will be just fine. Next time, ask your vet for a syringe to draw up the urine from the box, it's much easier that way.

Nosorb is a bunch of black rock-like things that don't absorb the urine. Vets will often have people use it when they need to collect a urine sample at home. That way, the cat still has the feel of litter under his or her feet, but the urine remains unbound to litter.
