I do too, unless I quote, or want to use a smiley. The only time I really make an effort to preview myself is when I'm posting pictures.

sorry.
Hi sweetie,

found something that might help you as I always have this problem. There is this cool spell check you can download for free and it works on internet explorer browsers. The website is: http://www.iespell.com I use it all the time although i forget sometimes and that makes me feel a little better as my spelling can sometimes be really bad. All you do is write like you would in this box and the right click on your mouse and it gives you the option to check your spelling.

Hope that helps

Oh so thats why you can't edit, i did wonder where it went. I was just about to do a post about it and then I saw it had already been done.

I think it is annoying not being able to have the edit button as i am sometimes so forgetful and then want to change it a little. Even though I know you can press the preview button that doesn't always help with some things you may want to edit later. But oh well rules are rules even if they stink!!!

I am just going to have to hurry up and get 300 posts and hope I have been a member for 90 days or that I will be soon.

Thanks for letting us know why though

Iam sure that we can all cope with some spelling or typing mistakes, and with the way that the time just rolls along we will get to our place before we know it. Its o.k.

Being the benevolent moderating team that we are,
I have made an adjustment in the post editing feature.

This will affect all members.

All members now have the ability to edit their own posts. However, there is a 1-day time limit set on the function. This will allow you to make the necessary spelling corrections or add a thought you forgot. After one day, though, a mod will have to edit the post. I think this gives everyone a fair shot to edit a post, yet prevents people from changing the content of a thread after time.

Comments and feedback are welcome.

Sounds like a good compromise to me.

This is for all of us? Oh dear...

Actually, now that I think about it, I guess I never try to edit a post after a day...

If you have some kind of 'edit emergency' after a day, PM a mod or 'report' your own post.

I'm sure it won't be a problem Deb! I think right now it's just feels like it's a big deal because it's something we could do without thinking about it, you know? But, like I said, I don't know that many people that edit their posts a few days later... y'all are doing a great job!

Sounds like you guys have worked out a great solution to the problem, Deb. Thanks for your work on our behalf.

P.S.
Did anyone else notice that my thread started a Revolution?!? I feel just like I'm in eighteenth century France, lol. Vive la Resistance!!!!

I think this is a great idea. I was supprised to find after posting I could actually edit and I thought it was because I had suddenly had "enough days" to qualify. This does indeed sound like a great solution for typos, especially with the "quick reply" which does not allow the preview first
Thank you!
