One of my cats is a chronic sneezer. She is now five years old, and has been a sneezer since we first adopted her as a 7 week old kitten. She appears to be completely healthy, and she has never had any health problems. In fact she is the most active cat in our house and is one of the few in our house who fit the weight guidelines. She has always been an indoor cat. She has all her vaccines up to date.

She has been tested for all the big scary stuff, and the tests have come back negative. I wouldn't be concerned except that i regularly have my food, drinks, and my face covered in cat snot which can be quite revolting. Any ideas as to what it might be?

We sometimes joke that she's allergic to cats, since I am too. We've got 6 others in the house as well as her. :
The house is old and in poor condition so there could be some mould growing in the walls or in the basement coming up through central air.

She could have a chronic herpes infection...those often cause sneezing. In that case, there are antivirals (like Interferon) that can help. It might also be that she has a sensitive nose or some sort of deformity that doesn't interfere with anything...just causes the annoying sneezes. My older baby, Spot, has been sneezing a lot since he had an abscess on his forehead. We put him on Interferon to rule out the possibility of a herpes outbreak. It helped for a while, but the abscess is back, and he's started sneezing again.

At least your kitty seems otherwise healthy. Maybe you could keep a hankerchief handy to block the spray?
