I am sure this has been answered before, but is it o.k. to feed mature cat food to an 18 month old.

My friend rescued two surrendered cats and was told by the previous owner that she fed the 8 year old mature cat food and that the young one ate it, too. I am sure it would be difficult to separate them, so I just wanted some opinions.

Thanks a lot!

There is no problem with the 18 month old eating adult cat food. Cats are considered adults at around 12 months. For my Loki I started integrating adult food with his kitten food at around age 1, the whole process tool about 2 months until I was all out of kitten food. He is now 19 months and thriving!!

All my best

senior food just has less calories, protein and fat to ensure that older, less active cats dont become obese. i wouldnt worry about it unless the younger one seems to be loosing weight.

It is the senior food I was concerned about, but I figured it was o.k.

Those certainly are some beautiful Siamese New Jersians. I especially like that beautiful dark one.

Thanks again.
