Cats in heat

Can cats go into heat if they are pregnant? I have a feral cat, who I thought was pregnant, go into heat today, and was seen with a feral tomcat, P.S. !

Anyway, is that possible? We are going to get her spayed, but, I thought we had to abort kitties. If heat isn't possible during pregnancy, then I'm the happiest person alive! I won't have to abort kitties, afterall!!! So, can it be?

Once a cat is bred they won't go into heat till after the kittens are born.

But if you saw her with a tomcat then you are going to have to act pretty quickly to get her spayed!
