We have a gorgeous little kitty who is about 8 months old but due to her being very poorly when she was a baby she is under the growth chart and only about 6 months but vet says she is ok.

But anyway she is a little monster, she is very cheeky and naughty but we
love
her to pieces. The problem we are having is yesterday her collar came off...so we put it bacvk on and she was happy about it. Then its happened like another 4-5 times within a few days!!! We like to have it on her so if she was to exscape someone would know where she belongs. And she is a little monster so even though she hasn't been out yet you have to be so careful she doesn't try and exscape. So its really important she has one on especially with her being her. I just don't know what to do to stop her from taking it off...because for it to happen this much in a few days it has to ber her. As we've had it since she came home with us and it has never fallen of/her taking it off. Its a saftely collar one so I think she has the hang of getting it off and I need some help to figure out how to stop this....Please!

Right now she has nothing on because I can't find where she has hidden her collar...But i need to find it cause I don't want her to exscape and have nothing on her to tell them where she lives. I am very worried about this...

If anyone can help me I would be greatful,

Eva and the naughty little monster Molly xxx

Eva have you tried one of the snap open collars i sent you?.

It's all down to patience really. Sophie was always taking hers off but it helped when she had to wear an e-coller after her spay because that got her used to wearing something around her neck.

I had to stop buying flea collars for Jasper because he would lose them whenever he went outside. He doesn't mind them when I put them on, but there is someplace he must be catching them and they break off (like they are supposed to).

Maybe Molly found a new hidey hole for her toys and her collar is there.

I've watched my Billy take them off all the time. I would put it on him, and less than ten minutes later, he'd take it off! It's to the point now that the collar buckle is worn, and I need to buy a new collar. I've pretty much given up on keeping him collared. I feel the same way about you, with the cat getting out, but, there's nothing I can do. CJ loves her collar, and she has not taken it off once. But, Billy.... geeze. That's another story!!!

If you find a method that works.... LET ME KNOW, PLEASE!!!!

I can DEFINITELY relate to that!
Billy once hid his so well, it was missing for a month! Turned out, he was on his favorite windowsill when he took it off, and he knocked it off, and it was hanging on my mom's drums. It was in a spot that you couldn't see. I looked for HOURS a day for that until I finally gave up, and I saw it one day while dusting the drums!

Have you considered having her microchipped instead of a collar? Heaven forbid it happen, but if she does get out and the collar doesn't come off when it is supposed to.. *shudder*.

Susan - Molly's Collar that is now missing is one from the USA made for a very small kitty. You see Molly is very small, Probably not even the size of a 12 week old kitty...but don't worry she is healthy which is why we specially ordered the one she was wearing. Like the ones you sent me it has that safety buckle which I think are great. I did try one you gave me, keeping the read one for Huggy but its still too big (thats how small she is).

Gemlady - Maybe had found a new spot for her toys and her collar but I can not find it anywhere. She really is a little monster but a cutie.

Addy - Its strange Molly has always loved her collar and had no problems. Its come of a few times but thats cause she got stuck and the buckle came un done like it should. But for some reason over the last few days she has enjoyed taking it off, its like on off on off....and now she's hidden it. I have looked high and low and can not find it. I am getting to the point like you that I might she have to risk her not having her collar but I am going to try not too. Because of her being a cheeky naughty little thing and being so young she doesn't listen to us much or come to her name so we are worried if she did get out she wouldn't come back. I am hoping we'll find this collar and hope she'll keep it on this time....and if she doesn't we;ll have to think of something! And if I find some way of stopping it I'll let you know...but I don't hold out much luck!

Thanks everyone, Cats hey who'd have em? WE WOULD
I am sure there in control of us rather than the other way round, we are just there personal slaves...

Sorry would of mentioned you in my above post but you were obvially posting when I was

Cirque, her collar is a special safety one so if she pulls or gets stuck it will come off and believe me if she wanted to get out of it she could. We are going to get her micro chipped soon too but I always like to have the collar on too just to be extra safe and I always worry if someone found her they might not think about her being micro chipped.

Thanks, Eva x

Chloe is pretty small too and most collars are too big for her at this point. I got one of those stretchy buckle collars and she still managed to take it off 3 times. Now we can't even find it!
So I can definitely relate to what you're going through!

Thanks for your reply, it was lovely to hear from you.

I am not a fan of collars but if you insist on using one, you should get a kitten one called go as your grow. I can't off-hand recall the company that makes it, but you can find it through google on the internet I'll bet.

The collar i got is brillaint because it grows with her 9although its lost at the mo) It can go really small but then go much bigger so as she grows she can stay the same with the collar. I think its great personally and even has the safety buckle. Although i think the cute little one has figured out how to get it off.

Thanks for the tip though, right now she is using one Eviecat lost a while ago and it actually goes really small and is green velvet and has a safety buckle.
