a cat, appox.1 year old was abandoned outdoors last april. he lived outdoors
up until feb1,last month. dont worry ,he is right next to me,sleeping, fed, warm, and slooowly getting use to indoor life. yes, he has had every necessary shot, major health checkup.bath, and fixed.

i cant explain in few words why he spent so much time outside before getting rescured. One,it was unknown if he was a stray for months or just owned by people who left him outside 24/7. Then he would disappear for a week or so.
then he was unbelieveable to catch. Finally he was caught using a small cage with a trap lever inside. he managed to go inside the cage 5 times and get food and leave WITHOUT tripping the lever to the door

(i will fill in this post as time permits)

this cat endured multiple -0 to -50 degree days,6-12 foot of snowfall days, rainstorms. we are in the middle of the woods so to speak,so it is unknown how many predators he encounted including human.

he is a big fluff ball of a cat, always was ,but underneath his body is underdeveloped, real fragile boney. he is shell shocked still, very scared, but slowly coming around. he did not go wild outside. so far ,he stays in his extra large cat carrier most of the day and night.

i am going to see if i can get a pic of him and post it.

Can he get out of the cat carrier at will? Or are you enclosing him in it for your safety and his?

Thanks for rescueing this fella- he sounds lucky

he is free to go in and out of his cat carrier, the door is never closed. he is just being given time right now. we have 3 cat beds but he prefers the carrier.

he purrs, there is no problems petting him although he shys away. a simple drop of a pencil on a floor makes him jump up

i just cant seem to fathom how he was during the subzero degree days.

Buddy came to us recently from the great freezing outdoors during a very cold period of winter here. The hair on his ears was gone and his pads were sore and cracked as well as he himself being very thing. I am so glad your able to help that kitty and I hope you get as much pleasure as I do from Buddy when hes not being "bad".
Good luck!
