Because I breed the old-style Siamese cats, I know exactly what you mean about your Isis. LOL My Lexus is a major annoying cat-like substance at times! My husband recently painted my bedroom for me, the trim is a lovely buttercream yellow and of course, Lex just HAD to stick her very seal-brown nose in the paint ... so until I could get it off her nose, she was called The Yellow Nose of Lexus.

We are, this very weekend, painting my kitchen and Lex has been confined to my bedroom most of this day. She is into EVERYTHING.

Anxiously awaiting your next arrival ...

Yep 5 squirming little babies so far. the last one was a hard birth for her also she was almost screaming. I had to take all the others out for a few minutes in a towel to make room for her to move about to birth the 5th baby. I am not sure if he was breech or not.

Momma is hugging all her babies close to her and some are nursing now. I hope that was her last one she seems a bit wore out and her blanket was a bit wet. I don't want her or the kittens to catch cold so I took some of the excess that was piled in the corner and folded it over the wet so she has dry to lay on.

I have another of her blankets that I will try to put in later so she has dry clean blankets. So far no more contractions breathing has settled to steady and momma is resting with babies nursing.

I went to bed about 3:30 am making sure that Samona was not going to have any more kittens. I was awoken at 8:00am by my best friend who called upset because her and her 8 year old combative son had a bad morning. She has one son 9 years old who is ADHD and the 8 yr old is combative taking things out on her (hitting, kicking, biting, screaming, pulling hair) anything to get his way. She has tried so much and is at her whits ends. So she calls me after her bad times with him to calm down. I was on the phone for an hour so just got back up. Needless to say Last night I got lots to sleep since I crashed at 8:30 and slept till 10 today.

Update on kittens they are all doing good big and healthy. I think Samona was a week over due though these kittens are a bit large. I have never been a good guesser at sex this early in age so I will not know what sex they are for about another week or 2.

I will only handle the kittens once a day. Pick them up turn them on their backs and back over then put them back with mommy. I have always done this to get any baby (puppy or kitten) used to handling. Plus I don't want momma to freak out on me if I am handling them too much. Samona hugs all her kittens and counts them. She is in and out of the box all day but lays close to it when not feeding. She also does not let the poms or Isis (siamese) near the box.

I know I shouldn't post in here, but I have read this thread and want to congratulate you on helping Samona. You sound dedicated and were helpful to her.

I'd also like to see any pictures once you get a chance -- I know you are tired and probably need to get caught up on other things for a while.

LOL ok that is too funny. I have a few pictures but need to somehow post them somewhere so I can link them here. As soon as I do that I will have pics of all the babies, momma and Isis. I might even get in a good pic of Jazz and I have a pic of Harley (MIA) that i could post.

Oh, I just meant this forum is for "breeders only". I belong over in the "Caring for Strays and Ferals" area.

Don't worry lol I am not a breeder either.

Samona is a release pet I got from the local humane society. A release animal is where an owner willingly gives up an animal due to health reasons or some unforseen reason. Samona's original owner was an older lady that had passed away and her children could not keep her. So I happened to be there the day they put Samona out on the Adoption block (they hold all animals 5 days). I was originally there to see if maybe someone had turned in my Harley but they did not.

I fell in love with Samona at first site. I also knew at first site she was pregnant and just far enough along they could still abort the kittens and I was not about to have that. So I adopted her.

Isis my Siamese was a rescue we are not sure if she is full or mixed but we think its as close to full as she can get. Isis is fixed and Samona will be fixed as soon as the babies are big enough to wean. And if I keep any of the kittens they also will be fixed and those given away will be required to be fixed.

It really isn't for breeders only - it is for anyone interested in breeding and for those who simply want to know more about it. If ever you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know, OK? And don't feel you can't post in here.
