She's fine. However, she knocked me offline on Wednesday night, and I just got service restored.
How's that?
Well, see, I live in an old place. When I moved here 5 years ago, there was a phone jack that wasn't secured to the wall. Like everyone else, things get forgotten...and it laid on the floor at the wall of the bedroom for years.
I shouldn't have forgotten...
Pengy decided to piddle outside her box (unusual for her, but not a medical thing)...and this time she chose to piddle on the exposed phone jack. Which shorted the jack. And then shorted some other fuses here in the house. Which, of course, set up a power surge which took out other things. Sigh... burnt cat pee is not a fun thing to smell.
Because I'm on a dial-up connection, the shorted out jack took my phone lines out.
She's very scared and upset; there was a strange man in the bedroom making all sorts of noise at her corner, and while she had fled, she was still shaking about an hour ago...poor thing.
On the brighter side, Simon tried to help the phone guy reinstall the jack. He kept nudging the screwdriver to the guy's foot, playing with the stuff on his belt, and at one point climbed up onto his shoulder to watch over the installation. Simon pawed at the new phone jack, and tried to plug in the line, and when the phone was tested it rang, and Simon tried to answer it. The phone guy thought that was the funniest thing, and kept ringing the phone to see if Simon could actually get it off the hook. He did, and the phone guy now has a new story to tell. LOL.
Sigh...life in my house is never boring. It's many other things, but never boring.
Best-
Michele
