She's fine. However, she knocked me offline on Wednesday night, and I just got service restored.

How's that?

Well, see, I live in an old place. When I moved here 5 years ago, there was a phone jack that wasn't secured to the wall. Like everyone else, things get forgotten...and it laid on the floor at the wall of the bedroom for years.

I shouldn't have forgotten...

Pengy decided to piddle outside her box (unusual for her, but not a medical thing)...and this time she chose to piddle on the exposed phone jack. Which shorted the jack. And then shorted some other fuses here in the house. Which, of course, set up a power surge which took out other things. Sigh... burnt cat pee is not a fun thing to smell.

Because I'm on a dial-up connection, the shorted out jack took my phone lines out.

She's very scared and upset; there was a strange man in the bedroom making all sorts of noise at her corner, and while she had fled, she was still shaking about an hour ago...poor thing.

On the brighter side, Simon tried to help the phone guy reinstall the jack. He kept nudging the screwdriver to the guy's foot, playing with the stuff on his belt, and at one point climbed up onto his shoulder to watch over the installation. Simon pawed at the new phone jack, and tried to plug in the line, and when the phone was tested it rang, and Simon tried to answer it. The phone guy thought that was the funniest thing, and kept ringing the phone to see if Simon could actually get it off the hook. He did, and the phone guy now has a new story to tell. LOL.

Sigh...life in my house is never boring. It's many other things, but never boring.

Best-
Michele

Good to see you back Michele! I had wondered where you were, but I just attributed it to setting up for the new promotion.

Aw, poor Pengy to have such a scare with the strange man in her room! Was she stressed or something to cause her to pee outside the box?

Simon is such a good boy to help (and impress!) the phone guy like that!

Yes, well, there's that, too...only an additional 30ish hours a week to set this thing up, and my regional manager wants to introduce the first Mentorship Training Intensive by mid-April...so now I'm writing the syllabus, meeting with people, and designing the workbook, as well as running my own real estate business, training 15 new licensees, calendaring special events, and handling all the legal compliance for my office...I hope at some point (soon!!) that things balance out. It's getting a tad difficult to hear myself think.

Not really; on occasion she pees outside the box because of territory stuff with Charlotte or Pie. Esse and Simon are her friends, but Pie has lately been rather "curious" about Pengy, and I can see that Pengy thinks Pie is encroaching onto her territory. Charlotte likes no-one, and so that's just a thing which happens. If Charlotte uses Pengy's boxes, Pengy gets upset...and if I am at work or not aware that Charlotte has used the boxes, and don't get it clean right away, Pengy will sometimes pee outside.

Yes, she was scared...but she's back in the condo now, being her hidey-hole self.

Simon is such a good boy to help (and impress!) the phone guy like that!
LOL, yes, he was. He said hello and goodbye, too, just like a little boy would. It's scary with him sometimes...really unnerving. But definitely a delight!

Turtlecat, she'll be fine...and yes, Simon is a funny cat! Life here, like I said, is not ever boring. I caught Simon climbing the screen door today, too. I so wish I had my camera ready...it would've been a hysterical photo...he looked like one of those flying rats, all spread out on the screen like that. Maybe he'll do it again, and I'll get a shot. That would indeed be funny.

Yes, I was wondering, too, where you'd got to but, like Heidi, figured you had a fair bit on your plate right now, so....

Poor sweet Pengy!
Strange man in her room! I hope Simon reassures her there's nothing to worry about -- perhaps coming from a feline friend, it will be credible and she'll relax sooner -- for sure, he's got the gen on the situation, having been right in there helping!
What a guy!

Simon indeed is helpful...at least he thinks so....LOL.

Pengy was back on the rocker last night, so we're back to normal (or what passes for that here.)....

Maybe we should exchange telephone numbers, Michele - then Simon and Jamie could call each other when they're bored! Think of the phone bills (and the 9-hour time difference)!
