About a month ago our beautiful, seemily healthy and happy cat Winnie got sick. He had stopped eating and was breathing heavily. We went to the vet and she suggested he got hit by somebody or something which was causing the fluid in his lungs and the breathing. We gave him some pills, for a week and he just kept getting worst.
We took him a second time and they drained the fluid from his lungs and thought that he had either had cancer or heart disease. Heart disease was the better of the two since it might have been treatable. They took some blood tests and they all came back negative. We were optamistic.
The day the tests he came back, we were in the kitchen. Winnie had let out a terrible sound, collapsed and we thought he was dead. A couple of seconds later, he started gasping for air and came back to us.
We took him to the emergency clinic. They did an x-ray and found two cancerous tumors. They told us that it would be best to put him to sleep, he looked really awful and weak, a shell of his once perfect self, we said our goodbyes and put him to sleep. I am so glad that he gave us a chance to say goobye to him in a peaceful setting. His life was too short, but he was an amazing cat that changed our lives adn will always be in our hearts.

I am so sorry, but at least the cancer took him quickly. Once cancer spreads to the lung in animals it is pretty much all over for them. He will be welcomed at the rainbow bridge by many new friends.

I am so sorry to read of this tremdeous pain that you must be going through after loosing your sweet Winnie. It is never easy to make the decision to help our loved ones cross over to the bridge, but not only are you thankful that you had a chance to say goodbye to him, but he is thankful that you loved him enough to help ease his pain and help him cross over to the rainbow bridge with dignity. It is the most unselfish act that we can do

Winnie is now completely healthy again and in no pain whatsoever. He is now chasing all the butterflies and all the TCS RB kitties are there to meet him

He is watching over you closely and will wait until his eyes light up as he sees you again...

RIP Winnie

I am so sorry for your loss. I would like to think my sweet Joshua, who went over the bridge two weeks ago today, with a lung tumor, was there to greet your Winnie, and to guide her to the best spot in the butterfly fields.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Winnie sounds like a very special and much loved boy. I'm sure he loved you back in equal measure. You did all you could for him, including ending his pain. I'm sure if he could have, he would have thanked you for that last loving and courageous thing. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Poor Winnie. I'm sorry you had to take the courageous but tough decision to help Winnie at a time when he was so ill. You did the right thing - hard as it is to come to terms with. Winnie would have known that he was loved to the end and you will always have the wonderful memories of your times together

You were very loved, winnie! Have fun playing with the other kitties at the bridge. You are no longer in pain but are well and healthy.
We are all loving your meowmy and praying for her.
