a friend told me that i should use vasoline or vegatable oil my cat's food. she didn't get into details about how often or how much?

emma has had one hairball (gross) and i've been giving her pounce treats for hairball treatment. is this enough or should i go for the oil or vasoline?

thanks.

I would definatly stay away from the vasoline. If it is a hairball, I would either use the veggie oil, about 1 tsp every other day or the best would be to get the laxatone from a vet.

this very forum recently yielded knowledge of a product called Petromalt. We bought some because our Striker was having difficulty with hacking. Three days of once-a-day treatment and he hasn't hacked since. It can be used less often in a sort of preventative sense, too.

Hope that helps.

We use petromalt. It's about $6, often I can get it in the grocery store, and the cats love it.
