Love these stories
Hopefully I'll be able to add cute Cosette wakeup stories soon. For now, she just wakes us up with little mews behind the door (she's still sleeping in the bathroom until her URI is all gone).

So far I don't see anyone sleeping in past 6 am here

I am a morning person and Lovey lets me sleep in until a big 700 a.m sometimes, but he can get a little impatient some days at around 545 a.m!

He doesn't sleep with us generally as he is so active that he likes to have a mini playtime at about 230 a.m sometimes..
So, I have to shut my bedroom door to him

But he will literally meow and bang on the door to wake me up.
If he does it in the night and I make the mistake of letting him in, he will proceed to play with his image in my vanity table mirror (its very loud).

Its BF that minds the early wake-ups..Lovey is my cat at 530 a.m and HIS cat when he is doing something cool or being all "lovey" the rest of the day...LOL.

Daisy will paw me on my mouth if she thinks I'm being too slow at getting up. Milly just cries and thumps around the place (up and down the stairs, on and off the window sills).

My Trixie lets the other 2 do the dirty work.....she just sits and waits.

Petals and Tiggy start walking across my body and staring at me anywhere between 4-5. (We get up at 5:15) I will flip over and tell them to go away. Depending I guess on how hungery they are, they will either keep walking across me or leave me alone.......thanks goodness for their sakes I'm crazy about them!!

This is slightly related but I just wanted to share. I just found out last night that me not letting my boyfriend kick Waffle off the bed when he spends the night has been hurting his feelings all this time! He apparently felt like I was putting her comfort over his as she takes up half of the bed. I laughed at first because I thought he was being silly but then realized he was serious. Poor boy! I think he thinks I'm a bit over the top about Waffle sometimes!!

Conner is lazy like me,,he is a free choice eater and has food available at all times, so its not the food. He doesnt mind if I sleep in either, as long as he is under the covers, tucked tightly next to me where he can succesfully need his furry little paws all over my mouth and nose. I swear I wake up with a paw in my mouth most days of the week,,to think that that is the paw he scratches his litter with,,,gross. But he has to be touched at all times,,if not,,he will let you know that sleeping isnt acceptible anymore and he will lay on my neck. Now I know he's just 9 lbs,,but on your throat, 9 lbs of furry dead weight is quite enough for me.
PS- Tony got a pic of Conner and I with his camera phone yesterday morning,,it's horrible, we are both sleeping. Actually, aside from the fact that I look like death warmed over,,it's kinda cute. I am laying on my side, with my arms wrapped tightly about kitty, clutching him to my chest. He is all squished with his back against my chest and his head smushed underneath my chin,,,its sweet. Although he is rather needy, I love that he likes to be cuddled all night and has to be under the covers. It's a funny site,,Stevie-kitty-and Tony, all spooning in bed,,with the cover coming up to his shoulders just like us, he looks like a little human,,its heartwarming.

I'm in the same boat. Bradley knows I would put no PERSON above him, but he isn't so sure about the kits!
My solution for the kitty on the bed thing was to put Eponine's little sleeping bed on my side of the bed, at my feet. That way all 3 of us are sleeping happy. Does Waffle have any type of bedding that she likes to sleep on? Maybe put that on the bed near you so as not to disturb Brendan (though I am sure BRENDAN is her favorite thing to sleep on
)

Hmmm that's an interesting idea. She does have a nice, soft, flat cat bed that she liked to lay on most of the day. I'll definitely try putting it next to me the next time Brendan stays over. What's funny is that I think she's figured out that he will try to kick her off the bed! She USED to sleep next to him every time he was over, but lately she's been coming over next to me. Perhaps she knows I'll accomodate her and that her lover boy will not? Either way, I think she would still prefer to be ON him for sure!

All ur stories are CUTE!

Pepper used to wake me up in the mornings around 6:30 so I could feed them. She would reach out, pat my face with her paws and pull at the blanket with her claws until I get up to feed her and other cats. I LOVED it wheh she did this because often as I try to snooze a bit more, I would pet her and she'd arch her back like crazy. (hilarious to see her arcing her back like that) Often, I'd go back to bed after I feed the cats and sleep for half an hour more or so.

She has stopped doing that
for the last month or so because Tango, the new addition to the family, has taken over that job.

One big difference between how Pepper and Tango wakes me up is that TAngo WILL NOT let me sleep in NO MATTER WHAT I DO. He would walk all over my body, stick his face in my face with his whiskers tickling me, paw at me with his paws, and try to pull the blanket away from me. After I feed the cats, I'd crawl back into bed to snooze more and Tango will come right away and start in on me all again.

Often at this time, I'd start pushing him gently off the bed several times before getting fed up. As I walk to the bedroom door, he'd start running out of the bedroom then I'd shut the door so HE couldn't come in and bug me.

One problem is that all cats HATES being separated from me by a door. When I finally get up and open the door, all 5 cats would be crouched in front of the door waiting for me.

I often wonder if my cats meows to wake me up or when they are shut out of the bedroom. I have not seen them meow often (I'm Deaf) so I'm not sure if they meow to try to wake me up.

I know with my old (RB) cat Doonesbury, he seemed to know I was deaf because my family noticed he meowed ONLY when I looked directly at him. He often would paw at me to get my attention.

I have no doubt that Doonesbury knew! Animals are so perceptive!! He sounds like he must have been quite the special kitty!

I am envious of those that have cats that will let them get away with sleeping late. I get up at 5:30am during the week so the boys just get woken up with the alarm clock when I do. But on the weekends, first Gandalf will come into the bedroom and run his paws down the blinds making that infernal clicking sound that I hate so much. He's lucky that he has me wrapped around his little paw. I know he does it just to get attention the little punk. However, sooner or later he'll give up and hop on the bed and curl up beside me and watch until I'm awake. If Gandalf doesn't get me up, then Samwise will come into the bedroom and hop up on the dressor and start crying, Meow, Meow-ow-ow and get louder and louder until I finally get out of bed.

It's sad but I know who wears the pants in this family and it's not me, it's those two furballs.

I agree- Doonesbury was a SPECIAL cat to me. I had him for 18 years (grew up with him) and was HEARTBROKEN when he passed away. I still miss him. He has been gone for over 13 years now and I still think of him almost every day. Often Buddy and Spike reminds me of Doonesbury because he was black also with a small patch of white on his chest..

You're right- animals are very perceptive!
Sometimes TOO PERCEPTIVE!

OH! Thanks for the compliment on the name! We named him after a cartoon character- don't ask me why!
My family often told me that it would drive them crazy hearing me hollering for Doonesbury as I grew up. I would mispronounce his name something like Dooooooooobeeeeeerrryyy or Dobery!!!

Yeah he was very special. I'll have to hunt down some pics of him and post for u guys.

Oh yes you must post pics of him! All of your current babies are so precious, I can only imagine how wonderful the great Doonesbury was!

Oh, Doonesbury sounds sweet! I'm sorry you lost him...

Ha! I'm so glad everybody's kitties are as nuts as mine. Winston likes to wake us up every day promptly at 7:45. He sleeps by my feet, and he'll walk up and sit on my chest and stare at my face. If I don't wake right up, he'll paw and/or nibble my face and/or hands and meow. If I hide under the covers in hopes of stealing five more minutes, he pulls the covers back and starts in again. If I still don't get up, he goes over to Gabe (my BF) and makes him get up! HA!

She's got some great pics of her in the Fur Pictures section. Cosette is quite the little doll!
