Hello Everyone-

I breed Persians and I bred my female aproximately 23 days ago. I am not sure if she is pregnant though. She is eating more.....her nipples are slightly pink and she licks them a lot. They are also sticking straight out. Her personality has changed too....she is very sweet, which she never is.

Before in her prior pregnancies it has been easy to tell, but this time I am having trouble. Do you all think she is pregnant?

Please help!
Take Care,
Pat and Megan

Sounds like she is-if shes 23 days along it is the perfect time to take her to the vet to be checked he can tell you for she at 23 days and he might even be able to palpatate and tell you how many are in there. My cat stayed in heat for more then 2 weeks after she first bred so im not sure if that's always a sure indication that she is pregnant.
At 23 days my cat's nipples were only slightly pink but the were longer and sticking out more and she ate a lot too.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!

Shashawna is for sure pregnant. She pinked up a lot yesterday so we are sure she is pregnant now. We are hoping for 5-7 kitties. These kitties are going to be awesome
as they are CH sired.

I am having the same problem, I didn't see any breeding going on here but she would be on her 28th day and she has gotten really round and also is pinking up a little. I have a vet appt. on the 15th so i am hoping to see then. With a false pregnancy would there be this weight gain? This would be her first litter. And her 3rd heat. I have also bred himi's in the past when i was younger, But you forget what to look for. And Kess my boy really didn't show any interest as i wrote in a prior message. I am excited that maybe we will have our first litter soon!

With false pregnancy there are all the signs of a regular pregnancy including weight gain, swelling belly and pinking up so it is possible. The only way you'll know for sure is when you feel or see kittens moving inside or you get an x ray/ultrasound.

this is what my vet told me:

false pregnancy is quite rare in cats as its so easy for them to get pregnant. its more common for a cat to miscarry first then continue acting like they are pregnant.

usually with a cat if you thinks shes pregnant she more than likely is. they are prolific breeders!

I haven't had a false pregnancy yet either so once we see pinking up we are pretty sure our girl Shashawna is preggers.
