Is there any way to keep my kitten from jumping on the laptop any time its open? This is probably an impossible question. I'm sure he is excited by moving fingers. DH flipped out today when Kumal deleted some important files. If Kumal was human, he would be a brilliant hacker or computer virus creator. He has innate evil genius that tells him the exact combination of buttons to push to destroy the computer. Hes also managed to disable the internet connection, send out cryptic mass emails, among other things!!

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
If you find out let me know because my two either walk across the keyboard, lie on it, or sit in front of the screen

I think it's something we have to expect though really!

*sigh* I guess, its out of my hands if he hacks into confidential FBI files.

I need to get DH in the habit of using the upstairs desktop, instead. Any good sites on how to train husbands?

Mine have an unerring instinct for hte second I open a computer, and htey are there like a shot, sitting, lying, playing with the cursor. I have improved my backup so that I can't lose more htan about 3 minutes' worth of work!

It will probably just take time to train him. Keep picking him up and moving him off the laptop. My older boys got the idea in about two months. They know they're allowed on my desk, lap, or even in front of the computer monitor, but the one thing their not allowed to do is put a paw on my keyboard! Once they learned that if they touch the keyboard, they get picked up and put on the floor, they've stopped doing it.

yeah, that software looks like it would be pretty good. At least it would prevent cat caused computer problems even if it didn't really train them.

My cat loves walking on my synthesizers (different kind of keyboards). I'll wake up in the middle of the night to the sound keys being pressed and buttons being clicked. The combination of the height and interesting noises is probably irresistible to him

I just lock my screen every time I step away from the laptop, so I have to enter my password to get back on. I started doing this when I saw this little scene at my place....

hahahahaha.
I can't believe that exists.
I guess Necessity really is the Mother of Invention!

I will be in the other room and hear :beep, beep, beep, beep.
And Lovey will be simply standing on the keyboard or he jumps up and types.
I haven't found a way to combat it other than to entice him onto my lap.
I am generally ALWAYS typing over a cat on my lap
