1) false, my cat Sturgis loves to pull out Milo's whiskers and they always grow back.

2)false, crystals are formed because of the PH of the urine. Male cats are more prone to blockages though.

3)false, cats will get the size they are going to get regardless of being spayed or neutered.

4)false, genetics and care play a big part into how long a cat lives, just like us.

5)Kittens can start going to their new homes any time after about 9 weeks. Pumpkin may be just getting tired of them.

A cat does not have to be overweight to get crystals, I have seen blocked toms of all sizes.

Spaying and neutering does not affect the size of a cat, genetics and nutrition when their mother was pregnant and when they were kittens are the main factors.

2. Any cat can develope crystals at any point in their lives. Males are more likely to get stones than females. Studies have shown that a canned food only diet does seem to help prevent stones from forming in the first place and from reoccuring in a cat who has had them before.

3. Neutering does not make a cat gain weight. Any indoor cat, fixed or unfixed, who isn't getting enough exercise will gain weight. Most people think it's the neutering, but I think it's because most neutered cats are indoor only cats. I have Ho Ho, who is laying right next to me, who was fixed last June, and was outside for the past three months (which is why I adopted him). He's very healthy and at an ideal weight, but four months ago he was indoor only at the shelter and was carrying around four extra pounds. The easiest way to keep a cat at an ideal weight, neutered or not, is to make sure they're not overeating, and to make sure they get lots of exercise.

How old are Pumpkin's kittens?

she is being mean to them because in the wild this is about the time she would want them to go fend for themselves and leave her in peace to raise another litter. there is also a genetic advantage to this as by moving the kittens on there is less chnace of inbreeding.

if you just got them nutuered it might be because they smell different from the vets and she is unsure if they are her friends or a strange cat invading her territory.

Please don't EVER pluck a cat's whiskers, it would be very painful to the cat! Regardless of whether or not it grows back. That borders animal cruelty.!

1)if U pluck a cats whisker it will never grow back? Don't pluck them. Cats need whiskers to judge width of things they crawl into. I am sure they grow back (just like fur) but it's cruel.

2)boy cats can get cristles in their blader if they don't have fresh water, clean litter boxes & moist food? TRUE. My boy Snickers just got out of a 7-day hospital for urinary crystals. I keep the boxes clean and they get fresh water every day; HOWEVER he was on a strict "dry only" diet cuz he came from a home where he ate NOTHING but Atkins crud & it ruined his system. So he's on nothing but canned now.

3)cats will not get any bigger 1ns they R spayed/nuderd? Totally false. Jessie got fat & lumpy after her hysterectomy at age 2. Zorro is 19 pounds and he was neutered at 6 months.

4)girl cats live longer than boy cats? False. It depends on lifestyle, food, everything really but it's false.

Wait til they are totally weaned, after 6 weeks of age. If you take a kitten away from it's mother before it's weaned, it will have issues.

You sound like you really are a caring person for your kitties. That's a good thing that you want answers to things you are not sure of. If ever you need help with something you don't know, don't hesitate to ask, I'll gladly help you, or someone on this site will.

Keep up the good work!
